II. User safety information

Please read the following information for your safe and efficient operation of this two-way radio.

1. Your wireless two-way radio comprises a transmitting device and a receiving device. After it is turned on, it

can receive and transmit radio frequency signal within the frequency range of 462MHZ~467MHZ.

2. When using it, don't hold the antenna with hands since doing this will affect the valid communication

distance.

3. Maintenance of this two-way radio can be done only by professionals. Please don't disassemble it by yourself;

4. To avoid problems caused by electromagnetic interference and/or electromagnetic compatibility, please turn

off the two-way radio at places with the "please turn off the two-way radio" sign, such as hospital and other

health care and medical treatment places.

5. Please turn off the two-way radio when you are on a flight if so required by crew members.

6. In a car with airbag, don't place the two-way radio in an area where the airbag may stretch when it is

deployed.

7. Please turn off the two-way radio before you enter into an inflammable and explosive environment;

8. Don't replace or charge the battery in an inflammable and explosive environment;

9. Please turn off the two-way radio before you come close to blast zone and areas where a detonator is

arranged;

10. Don't use the two-way radio after its antenna is broken since slight burn may be caused when the broken

antenna is brought into contact with the skin.

11. Don't expose the two-way radio to direct sunlight for a long time or place it near a heating device.

12. When a portable two-way radio is transmitting signal, place it vertically, and keep the microphone about 5cm

away from mouth.

13. When transmitting signal, keep the antenna of the two-way radio 2.5cm at least away from head or body.

14. If you wear the portable two-way radio, it should be confirmed that when the two-way radio is transmitting

signal, its antenna is kept 2.5cm at least away from body.

III. Product check

Welcome to use this wireless two-way radio. Before use, it is suggested that you should:

1. First check whether the packing box of this product shows sign of damage;

2. Open the packing box carefully and confirm if it contains items listed in the table below; Please contact the

dealer immediately if you find this product or any accessory is lost or damaged during handling.

IV. Battery information

 Use the battery for the first time

Please charge the new battery before use since it wasn't fully charged when delivery. Generally, when the battery

is used for the first time, it shall be charged for 4 hours. For lithium ion battery, no matter it is charged with slow

charger or rapid charger, the charging time above shall be followed. It is suggested that the charging method above

shall be followed when the new battery is charged for first three times. When the battery runs low, it shall be

charged.

Please charge the battery specified by this manual. An explosion may occur to cause personal injury if other

batteries are used.

 Safety considerations in use of battery

1. Don't bring battery contacts or poles into contact with metal objects (including coin, key, jewelry or other

conductive metal), otherwise, short circuit, discharging, heating or leakage may occur to cause item damage

or personal injury. Therefore, care must be exercised for battery disposal.

2. Don't cause short circuit of battery terminals or discard the battery into fire. Don't disassemble the shell of the

battery pack by yourself. Please put the discarded battery into dedicated battery recycling bins.

3. Installation of external headphone/microphone

Insert the raised part at the bottom the headphone/microphone into the slot of the two-way radio as indicated by

the arrow in the figure below, then align the nut at the top of the headphone/microphone with corresponding

thread hole on the two-way radio and rotate it clockwise until tightened. There are several details that should be

noted in the use of external headphone:

 Turn off the two-way radio, then insert the plug of the headphone into the socket for the headphone of the

two-way radio.

 Turn on the two-way radio and turn down the volume before wearing it.

 Wear headphone accessory, and adjust the volume to a comfortable degree by pressing the monitoring

(MON) key.

 Make a call by pressing the call (PTT) key on the headphone and meanwhile speaking to the microphone

attached to the headphone.

 Receive the call by releasing the call key on the headphone.

In shutdown state, turn on the two-way radio by long pressing this key. In startup state, turn off the two-

During operation, corresponding function icon shall appear on the display screen. The display screen allows you
to realize the meaning of the indicating icon and how to set function with it rapidly.

Represent that the weather forecast function has been activated, and the

This symbol appears when the keyboard is in locking state. The keyboard can be

unlocked by pressing MENU key.
Display of current remaining battery power; indicates that the battery is in full
12 charge; indicates the remaining battery power; indicates that the battery is
running out, now the outline of the icon flashes, and no transmitting shall be done.
VII. Function operation

i Basic operation

1. Startup and shutdown

In shutdown state, after turning on the two-way radio by pressing key, the two-way radio rings, all icons are

displayed on the screen instantaneously. Current channel (1-22 channels in total) and 0-38 interference

cancellation mute codes are displayed.

In startup state, turn off the two-way radio by pressing key at the top.

Tips: Etiquette or the use of wireless two-way radio

The 1-22 channels resources of your wireless two-way radio are shared with others and used in turn. Other groups

may be using certain channels. To avoid interrupting the call of others and in order to have a better call yourself,

please don't occupy the channel which is being used by others.

You may try to change channel to avoid blocking, or use the monitoring (MONI) key to check the activity

condition of the channel. If you hear noise after pressing the monitoring key, representing that the channel is idle

and can be used.

2. 8-level digital volume adjustment

In standby mode, by pressing [] key, this two-way radio enters volume adjustment mode, and the screen shows

current volume level; the volume can be adjusted to the maximum value by pressing [ ] key continuously; by

pressing [] key, this two-way radio enters volume adjustment mode; the volume can be adjusted to the minimum

value by pressing [] key continuously.

Tips: Volume Level 1 is the minimum volume and Volume Level 8 is the maximum volume.

3. Talkback (transmitting and receiving)

When making calls with each other with wireless two-way radio, two-way radios of the same group must be set as

the same channel (1-22) and interference cancellation mute code (0-38). When making calls to other groups

without interference cancellation mute code, please set the interference cancellation mute code as OF.

 In order to improve call clarity, keep the microphone about 5~7.5cm away from mouth.

 By pressing and holding the call [PTT] key, the two-way radio gets into transmitting state, and the

transmitting light (red) is on. Speak to the microphone with a normal tone, when doing this, the microphone

shall be kept about 5~7.5cm away from mouth.

 End the call by releasing call [PTT] key. Now the two-way radio gets into receiving state.

Tips: about communication range

In order to optimal performance and communication range designed for the two-way radio, it is suggested that the

distance shall not be too short when using the two-way radio. It must be over 1.5m. Communication range is

shown below for reference:

 Optimal communication range, flat and open area;

 Medium communication range, when blocked by buildings or trees;

 Minimum communication range, when blocked by dense trees or mountains, or when in buildings or

vehicles.

4. Key locking function

MENU key, SCROLL keys (), CALL key, SCAN key, FM key and SOS key can be locked via key locking

function to avoid unintentional change of various settings of the two-way radio. Once the function is activated,

you can only use key (startup/shutdown) and PTT transmitting function.

Activate the key locking function by pressing the MENU key for 3 seconds as needed, now you can see icon

appears on the screen.

Deactivate the key locking function by pressing the MENU key for 3 seconds again as needed.

5. Monitoring function

In standby mode, long press [MONI] key to start monitoring. When squelch circuit is shut off, you will hear the

background noise (the prompt tone sounds once); release the same key to stop monitoring, then you will not hear

the background noise.

6. Scanning function

By pressing the [SCAN] key, the two-way radio shall detect the activity of 1-22 channels automatically. When

signal is detected in certain channel being scanned, the two-way radio shall stop in the channel automatically for

call.

1) The two-way radio shall stop in the channel with signal, and continue to scan next channel 15s after the

signal disappears.

2) When operating in radio mode, the scanning function is invalid.

7. Radio function

In standby mode, activate radio receiving mode by pressing the [FM] key, then the screen shows FM icon. Search

radio frequency ( in 100k stepped frequency, the frequency range is 87-108MHZ) automatically by pressing the

[SCAM] key. Stop automatically when radio station is found.

Also can search the frequency (in 100k stepped frequency) by pressing the [] key or [] key manually.

In radio mode, if there is carrier signal in current channel, the radio function can be stopped by pressing the [PTT]

key transmitting. If carrier signal isn't received, the radio function shall be restored after 15s.

8. MINI flashlight and alarm function

This two-way radio is provided with MINI flashlight lighting function which gives great convenience to users for

its use at night or environment with poor light.

In startup or shutdown state, you can activate flashlight function by pressing the [SOS] key, and now the flashlight

is on. You can deactivate flashlight function by pressing the [SOS] key again. By long pressing the [SOS] key, the

flashlight flashes and enter alarm mode.

9. Battery power display

There is a power indicator at the top right corner of the display screen, indicating battery power. When the

voltage drops to a certain preset value, the wireless two-way radio shall turn off automatically to protect the

battery. When the power indicator indicates , the two-way radio shall ring every 10 minutes or every time of

release of the call key, reminding you to replace or charge the battery.

ii Advanced operation

1. Set operating channel

1.1 In standby mode, enter channel selection menu by pressing the [MENU] key once. Current channel number

(the big number in the center of the screen) begins flashing.

1.2 Set new channel number by pressing the [] key or [] key.

1.3 Confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit and return to

normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

Note: This two-way radio has 22 preset channels with channel numbers 1-22.

2. CTCSS interference cancellation mute code selection

You can select different combinations of CTCSS interference cancellation mute codes so as to minimize the

interference. The setting shall be completed in the following steps:

2.1 In standby mode, enter CTCSS anti-interference code setting by pressing the [MENU] key twice. Now the

LCD shows current code and flashes, and CTCSS icon lights up;

2.2 Select 1-38 (CTCSS) by pressing the [] key or [] key;

2.3 After selection, confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit

and return to normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

Tips: You can set a different interference cancellation mute code for each channel. When making calls to other

groups without interference cancellation mute code, please set the interference cancellation mute code as OF.

3. DCS interference cancellation mute code selection

You can select different combinations of DCS interference cancellation mute codes so as to minimize the

interference. The setting shall be completed in the following steps:

3.1 In standby mode, enter DCS anti-interference code setting by pressing the [MENU] key three times. Now the

LCD shows current code and flashes, and CTCSS icon lights up.

3.2 Select 1-83 (DCS) by pressing the [] key or [] key;

3.3 After selection, confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit and

return to normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

Tips: The interference cancellation mute codes of this two-way radio include CTCSS and DCS.

4. DW channel selection

This function allows your radio station to monitor DW channel and operating channel; The setting shall be

completed in the following steps:

4.1 In standby mode, enter Menu 4 displaying: DW by pressing the [MENU] key four times.

4.2 Select OFF (OFF represents no DW function) and 1~22 channels (automatically skip to the next channel

when coming across operating channel) by pressing the [] key or [] key.

4.3 After selection, confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit

and return to normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

5. VOX voice operation setting

VOX voice operation needn't be transmitted by pressing the PTT transmitting key, it will be transmitted via

speech. When the speech stops, the transmitting shall stop too, and receiving shall be performed next.

5.1 In standby mode, enter VOX voice operation function by pressing the [MENU] key five times, the LCD

shows VOX.

5.2 Select OFF/1/2/3 by pressing the [] key or [] key.

5.3 After selection, confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit

and return to normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

Tips: After the VOX voice operation function is activated, VOX icon shall be displayed on the screen. Proper

parameters shall be selected according to the noise condition of application environment:

3=high sensitivity applicable to low background noise environment

2=medium sensitivity applicable to most application environments

1=low sensitivity applicable to high background noise environment

6. CALL tone setting

Call function applies to notifying two-way radio group members that someone is about to speak. By pressing the

[CALL] key, users in the group who use the same setting will hear the call tone that is transmitted by you. This

wireless two-way radio has 10 call tones for your choice. The setting shall be completed in the following steps:

6.2 In standby mode, enter call tone selection by pressing the [MENU] key six times. Now the LCD shows CA

and current CALL tone types, and the sequence of current CALL tone types flashes.

6.2 Select call tone types 01-10 by pressing the [] key or [] key.

6.3 Confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit and return to

normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

7. Key tone on/off setting

The function sets key tone on/off selection for you.

7.1 In standby mode, enter key tone on/off setting by pressing the [MENU] key seven times. Now the LCD

shows toand the ON/OFF flashes.

7.2 Select key tone on or off by pressing the [] key or [] key.

7.3 After selection, confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit

and return to normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

8. Roger Tone

Once you activate the Roger Tone function, when you end the call, the two-way radio shall send out a unique

sound which allows others to know that you have ended the call. The setting shall be completed in the following

steps:

8.1 In standby mode, enter RogerTone on/off selection by pressing the [] key eight times. Now the LCD shows

Rog, and the ON/OFF flashes.

8.2 Select Roger Tone on/off by pressing the [] key or [] key.

8.3 After selection, confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit

and return to normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

9. Power Save function on/off setting

The function sets Power Save function on/off selection for you. The setting shall be completed in the following

steps:

9.1 In standby mode, enter Power Save function setting by pressing the [MENU] key nine times. Now the

LCD shows Power Save, and the ON/OFF flashes.

9.2 Select Power Save on/off by pressing the [] key or [] key.

9.3 After selection, confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MENU] key, or save the new setting, exit

and return to normal operation mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

9. High/low power selection setting

The function sets high/low power selection for you. The setting shall be completed in the following steps:

10.1 In standby mode, enter high/low power setting by pressing the [MENU] key ten times. Now the LCD shows

Hi, and the ON/OFF flashes.

10.2Select high/low power on/off by pressing the [] key or [] key.

10.3After selection, confirm the setting by pressing the [MENU] key, and exit and return to normal operation

mode.

Tips: The power for Channel 8-14 channels of this two-way radio can be set as 0.5W only, and the high/low power

selection function isn't available. But the power for 1-7 channels and 15-22 channels can be set as 0.5W or 1W.

iii Weather forecast function

1. Weather forecast selection setting

The function sets weather forecast on/off selection for you. The setting shall be completed in the following steps:

1.1 In standby mode, enter weather forecast receiving mode by pressing the [CALL] key 2 seconds. Now the

LCD shows icon, indicating current weather channel and weather warning ON/OFF.

1.2 Select volume in 1-8 levels by pressing the [] key or [] key.

1.4 Enter automatic weather forecast channel (1-7) scanning by pressing the [SCAN] key. When radio station is

found, the scanning will stop automatically.

1.5 In weather forecast receiving mode, exit and return to normal operation mode by pressing the [CALL] key 2

seconds.

2. Weather forecast menu setting

2.1 Weather forecast channel selection

2.1.2 In weather forecast receiving mode, enter weather forecast channel menu selection by pressing the [MENU]

key once. Now the LCD shows icon, and current channel flashes.

2.1.2 Select weather forecast channel 1-11 by pressing the [] key or [] key.

2.1.3 Confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MEUN] key, or save the new setting, exit and return to

weather forecast receiving by pressing the [PTT] key.

2.2 Weather forecast warning on/off setting

2.2.1 In weather forecast receiving mode, enter weather forecast warning on/off selection by pressing the

[MEUN] key twice. Now the LCD shows icon, indicating current channel, and the ON/OFF flashes.

2.2.2 Select weather forecast warning on/off by pressing the [] key or [] key.

2.2.3 Confirm to enter the next menu by pressing the [MEUN] key, or save the new setting, exit and return to

weather forecast receiving mode by pressing the [PTT] key.

Tips: When the weather forecast warning function is on, in two-way radio receiving mode, currently set weather

forecast channel will be scanned every 5 seconds. When receiving weather forecast signal in frequency of

1,050Hz, this two-way radio will send out a warning tone and then enter weather forecast receiving mode directly.

In weather forecast receiving mode, the two-way radio receiving and transmitting function is deactivated.
