The Story of Zacchaeus

In the town of Jericho there lived a tax collector. His name was
Zacchaeus. He was very rich and the people did not like him. One day,
Jesus was traveling to Jericho for a visit. Zacchaeus had heard of Jesus
and of all of His miracles and wanted to see Him. But, Zacchaeus was
very short and could not see Jesus because there were many people
surrounding Him. Zacchaeus really wanted to see Jesus, so he decided
to climb high in a tree. When Jesus passed by, He looked up into the
tree and saw Zacchaeus. Jesus said, “Zacchaeus, come down. I will eat
with you in your home tonight.” The people thought this was a bad
choice, because they thought that Zacchaeus was a bad man. But,
Zacchaeus promised to give half of his money to the poor and return 4x
any money he had wrongfully taken. Jesus saw that Zacchaeus had a
good heart. He knew him and knew his name. Jesus said Zacchaeus
was saved. I know that Jesus knows my name and that He can see my
heart and knows when I am trying to choose the right. I say these
things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
