Ronald W. Reagan
Ronald Wilson Reagan was born February 6, 1911. He was born in Tampico,
Illinois. He was the 40th President of the United States of America. He served
1981-1989. Here are some facts about his life.
Ronald Reagan grew up in a poor town. He moved to different places for a
better life. Reagan went to Dixon High School. He was the class President in his
school. He played many sports like football, basketball and track and he was in
school plays. During high school, he worked as a life guard. He rescued many
people.
He went to Eureka College. There is a Ronald Reagan Museum near the
college he went to. For some of his time, he was a radio announcer for the
Chicago Cubs. Ronald Reagan became a Hollywood actor. He has been in over 40
movies. He was the only movie actor to become the President.
When he was President, Reagan was known for making the Soviet Union
end the Cold War. If he did not do that then the Cold War could still be
happening today. In 1981, John Hinckley Jr. shot Reagan and wounded him.
Hinckley also wounded 2 other people.
Reagan had two wives. His first wife was named Jane Wyman. She was an
actress. His second wife was Nancy Reagan. He had 5 kids. Three of his kids are
still alive.
Ronald Reagan was a great man who helped make the United States better.
To me he is the best President.
