I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
a. understand the guidelines in writing sources;
b. explain the importance of writing a bibliography;
c. show appreciation to an author’s work by preparing a bibliography;
d. follow the correct format in citing books, periodicals, and websites in a bibliography;
and
e. write a bibliography using real-life reference materials.

III. LEARNING PROCEDURES:


Preliminaries:
1. Greetings
2. Prayer
3. Checking of Attendance through the class president
4. Review
 Ask the students what is a research.

Motivation:
While the students are answering the review question, the teacher will roam around
the room and randomly get some of the students’ things. The teacher will return to
the front and pose this question:
 What did you feel when I got your things without permission?
 How can you acknowledge the other authors’ works in your research paper?

IV. LESSON PROPER:

1. Activity:
The teacher will flash some pictures on the board and the students will identify
whether it is an example of a bibliography or not.
2. Analysis
The teacher will process the activity by asking the questions:
 What, then, is a bibliography?
 How do you write a bibliography?

The teacher will introduce the lesson on how to write a bibliography.

3. Abstraction:
The teacher and students will discuss how to write a bibliography.

The following are guidelines on how to write a bibliography using the APA format.

For books:
 Author’s last name, Initial of the author’s first name. (Year of publication)
Title. Publisher’s city: Publisher. Page numbers.

Ex. Alexander, C. (2001) Market Models: A Guide to Financial Data Analysis. New
York: John Wiley & Sons. pp. 200-220.

4. Application
The teacher will station the reference materials (book, newspaper, magazine, and
printed webpage) in the corners of the classroom. The students will be grouped in 5 by
counting 1 to 5. The students will take turns to visit each station to experience writing a
bibliography using real materials. The teacher will ring the bell when it’s time for the
students to move to another station.
