SITTING ON LADY CRESCENT MOON

Sitting on the crescent moon

I look down and see the world in gloom!

Shadows of trees drooping,

No! They are children crying!

II

“Watch! Beware! You might fall!”

Yells the midnight Grandpa Owl sounding gall.

I firmly grip Lady Moon’s crescent face,

Silvery like mother’s silken lace.

III

I join with the wind, flying down

To see why the crying in the town.

Children like bones are wailing –

“Help us! Help us! We are dying!”

IV

A large wok invites me to enter

To see what’s lying on the platter.

I see burgers and chicken deeply fried,

I see children’s future gravely died!

“See that kid who’s a roly-poly?

He does not walk, likes riding the trolley!”

Tells the clean white rubber shoe,

As it smirks at the boy’s lazy toe.

VI

Grandpa Owl with his wisdom advises,

“Fast foods don’t offer surprises!

They trigger dreadful diseases.

They never assure bright future kisses!”

VII

Lady Crescent Moon waves goodbye,

And tells me she’ll rest for a while,

“Mr. Sun has awaken from his sleep,

Stroll around before you hear the bleep.”

VIII

Grandpa Owl reads for me the glowing banner:

“Eat a balanced diet, be a walker, be a runner,

Make your bones and muscles a lot stronger.”

Mr. Sun winks, assuring, “You’ll feel better!”

IX

When I sit again on Lady Crescent Moon’s lap

I will view the world while enjoying the top;

I will listen to songs of healthy children,

They exercise, they eat fruits and all those green!
