TRAINING DESIGN

I. TITLE: DEVELOPMENT OF AUTHENTIC INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN


IN ELEMENTARY / SECONDARY LEVEL

II. DATE: January 16-18,2020

III. VENUE: Lucena National High School

IV. RATIONALE:

Teacher should be creative and innovative in imparting the knowledge to the pupils to make lessons
more effective. Teaching K to 12 Curriculum should be in a culture based, to motivate learners to learn inside
and outside the classroom. Therefore, contextualization plays a significant role in delivering quality education
to the clienteles.

The delivery of the lesson through the localization is one of the highlights of the K to 12 Curriculum.
The Implementing Rule and Regulation (IRR) of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 emphasized that
curriculum should be contextualized (Rule II, Section 10.2), and flexible enough to enable and allow schools to
localize, indigenize and enhance the same based on their respective educational and social contexts (Rule II,
Section 10.2).

Furthermore, it stressed that the production and development of locally-produced teaching and learning
materials shall be encouraged. The approval of these materials shall be developed by the regional and division
education unit in accordance with national policies and standards. (Rule II Curriculum Section 10, 10.3).
V. OBJECTIVES:
General Objective:
To conduct a training writeshop on the development of authentic instructional materials in Araling
Panlipunan.
Specific Objectives:
a. develop substantial comprehension on the concepts of contextualization of the content area
in Araling Panlipunan;
b. introduce relevant strategies and approaches in contextualizing and localizing teaching and
learning thru the making of travelogue.
c. produce sample of development of authentic instructional materials or travelogue with the
assistance of ICT for the illustration;
d. Show skills in the positive use of ICT to facilitate teaching and learning process.

VI. PPST STRAND


PPST Strand 1.1 Training of teachers on content and delivery in teaching Least Learned Skills in
Araling Panlipunan.

VII. Methodology:
Brainstorming, Lecture, Group/ Individual Activities/Presentation, Dynamics, Writeshop,
Workshop, Interactive Lectures, Output Presentation, Feedback Giving Debriefing

VIII. Assessment and Application of Learning:

The participants will be assessed closely through their active participation in group work / individual
activities. They will also be asked to reflect their learning through writing a journal daily which shall be collected
before the end of the last session. On the final day of the seminar work-shop , all participants are required to
present and submit the development of authentic instructional materials or travelogue as their major output
which should be applied in their respective school.

X. Gender Mainstreaming:

Promote inclusive education that ensures males and females participants have an equal access to
learning opportunities, fair treatment in the learning process, and equitable outcomes as well as access to equal
opportunities in attending during the conduct of this three-day Seminar Workshop on Development of
Authentic Instructional Materials Contextualizing Instructional Materials in Araling Panlipunan from Grades 7 to
10.

XIII. Monitoring and Evaluation

 The participants are required to answer the online evaluation in the last session of the day.
 Participants are also expected to submit their output after the training.
 The Division Araling Panlipunan Coordinators will submit training completion report to the division CID
chief and regional AP supervisor.
 Monitoring for the municipal trainers in conducting echo seminars workshop to their respective
districts per municipality.
 Monitor and evaluate AP teachers together with the coordinating principal in the implementation of
this training in their respective station.
