Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Housekeeping 11


Date: January 15, 2019

I. OBJECTIVE: At the end of the lesson, the student is expected to;


a. Show tools and equipment and give its function
b. Demonstrate proper use of each cleaning tool and equipment
c. Apply the appropriate tools and equipment in performance task

II. Subject Matter: Cleaning Tools and Equipment


Reference: Housekeeping Handbook, definition of terms: Wikipedia.com
Materials: Laptop, video clip, instructional materials, POWERPOINT, manila paper
and pentel pen, crayons

PRESENTATION
III. Procedure:
Activity: The class are grouped into four and each group is asked to inspect the
classroom and site a dirty area that needs cleaning. Each group should write in a manila
paper the area that they have observed and they are going to draw also the possible
cleaning tools and equipment that are going to be useful to clean the area.

Analysis: What are the different types of hotel cleaning tools and equipment?
What are its functions and its proper usage?

Abstraction: Cleaning Tools and equipment are very essential to make the work of
the housekeepers easier and faster. The correct choice as well as well as usage helps the
property in terms of cutting cost, labor and time. The different types of hotel cleaning
equipment and tools are the following: (The students will observe and listen to the
teachers PowerPoint discussion.)

Application: The teacher will demonstrate the proper use of the different cleaning
tool and equipment used in cleaning different areas in the hotel.

IV. Assessment: The students will accomplish Performance Task 1.1 - Cleaning the
hotel guestroom using the appropriate cleaning tool and equipment and demonstrating
its proper use. The performance task should be done in the housekeeping laboratory.

The rubrics for this Performance Task is attached in this lesson plan.

V. Assignment: List down different cleaning chemicals that you can find in your home.
