- A review of related literature is a comprehensive summary of previous
research on a topic.
- It acknowledges the work of previous researchers.
- It creates "landscape" for the reader, giving her or him a full understanding
of the developments in the field study.
Objectives
1. To discuss the intention of “related studies” in research
2. Present a sample study with findings, where related studies are integrated.
- It allows the reviewer to check whether the author’s claims and
findings make sense within the wider body of research.
- It also allows readers and reviewers to check whether the author’s
findings confirm or contradict previous work.
- it allows readers and reviewers to check for plagiarism - including self-
plagiarism.
 WHAT IS ITS IMPORTANCE?
- related studies offer the need to be included to justify the novelty of
your research work. Even you can point out research gap of selected
research field (as to why you selected this domain).

 WHAT IS A RELATED STUDY IN RESEARCH?

- It is about reviewing or studying existing works, carried out in a
project/research work.
- Related studies can be taken from journals, magazines, website links,
government reports and other source, carried out through research.
2 types:
Local – done within the country.
Foreign – done outside the country.

 HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM A REVIEW OF LITERATURE?

- Review of literature is more general than a related study as it
encompasses all the information relevant to the research topic. This
may include facts, reports, news, blogs, journal articles, etc.
- Relates studies, on the other hand, are more specific and results-based
as it comes from actual studies, mostly conducted by researchers.
