Stratford-Upon-Avon was important in the 16th century because it had the Kings
School at Stratford. Education was a very important thing in Stratford-Upon-Avon
in the 16th century.
2. Name the theater company Shakespeare was a part of.
Shakespeare was apart of the Globe Theater, The Kingsmen, which was called
The Lords Chamberlain Men before King James became its Patron
3. Provide 5 facts you learned from the video.
Shakespeare also was a poet, He was a poet because the plague closed all the
theaters, he introduced 3,000 words to the English Language, a google search of
William Shakespeare comes up to 140 million results, his work is the 2nd most
credited after the Bible and he was the first real writer.
4. What day and year did Shakespeare die? Why is this an interesting date? How
old was he when he died?
Shakespeare died on his birthday, April 23, 1616, he was 52 when he died.
5. Summarize the section “Did Shakespeare write his own plays?” Why do people
think he may not have written them? Why do people think he did? ​(CS)
People think he didn’t write his own plays because it was so much like the Bible
and also, he didn’t have a good education. People now believe that he did write
all of his plays because of what we know about his life and more people are
informed about it.

The Bride’s dress doesn’t have to be a certain color, it can be any fashionable or
current color and cut.
2. How is the intention to marry announced? What happens if it is not announced

The intention to marry must be announced in the church 3 times. Any marriage
not announced before the ceremony is clandestine, and is illegal.
3. Describe the wedding procession. ​(CS)
It is generally really noisy, accompanied by musicians, laughter, and jokes. If the
groom is not part of the procession, he meets the bride either at the side door of
the church or at the altar. They all enter the church and start the ritual.
4. What is a dowry?
Is an amount of money, goods, and property the bride brings to the marriage.

The three theaters that competed with The Globe was the Swan, the Rose and
the Hope.
2. How did the original Globe burn down in 1613? ​(CS)
The original Globe burned down because ​a cannon was shot during a
performance of ​Henry VIII ​and it ignited the thatched roof of the gallery​.
3. The Globe theater was rebuilt in 1997, and renamed Shakespeare’s Globe. Click

The theater is really pretty, with a bunch of cool designs. The theater also looks
over a river leading to a church. The views outside of the theater are spectacular.

The inside of the theater is remarkable and has what some of the designs
inspired by some of the works that Shkespeare has done. It kind of looks like a
chinese theater.

There were no women actors that the company featured just men and boys.
2. Was Shakespeare an actor? What is the term used to refer to actors? ​(CS)
Shakespeare was an actor and loved being on the stage. Actors were referred to
as players.
3. How were the seating arrangements for the audience? How did one get a good
seat? ​(CS)
The seating arrangements for the audience members was first come first serve.
There were no reserved seats for people. To get a good seat one must get there
early and be one of the first people in to get the seat they want.
4. What would the audience do if they did not like a performance? ​(CS)
If the audience did not like the performance then they would pelt the players with
oranges or anything handy and scream at them.
