OUR DUTIES,YOUR TAKE

Let's take 2 cases-

Life is going fine until we are informed that a bill has been passed in the
parliament by the government which is perceived by us in the wrong way. So we start
protesting against it and it leads to breakdown in our constitution.

We are going somewhere and we see a road accident has happened and the injured is
terribly bleeding. But we decide to escape because we don't want to include
ourselves in such tragedy.

The only difference between these 2 cases is that the former is our 'constitutional
right' and the latter is our 'fundamental duty'.

Being the citizens of a democratic country, it's our right to fight for our
right. But when it comes to performing our own duty,we start counting on others to
do it.Because its human's self-defence mechanism which is bound to find fault in
others first and to defend ourselves.

So when I started penning down my initial thoughts, I had to think twice and dig
deeper to emphasize upon our duties. But when it came about rights, you won't be
surprised if I give you a long list of rights that came in my mind.

So what's the difference between the 2?

Right deals with our expectations from others whereas duty with expectations from
self.

I think, some of the duties which we,as a responsible citizen, should have,as might
be listed by my other friends from across the country-

1.To stay honest whatever may come.

2.To obey the law.
3.To keep ourselves and others happy.
4.To study and work sincerely.
5.To introspect ourselves before judging others.
6.To preserve our resources.
and most importantly,
7.To stay HUMAN.

I think the last one may seem far-fetched but its the truth that we'll be entitled
to our rights only and only if we are dutiful , honest and sincere.

So next time we see any road accident happening, we'll stop, won't we ?
