A computer is a helpful electronic machine. It helps us to do a lot of things. A

computer consists of the hardware and the software.

The hardware is the collection of physical parts of a computer system like the
monitor, the keyboard and the mouse. It also includes all the parts inside the
computer like the hard disk drive, the motherboard and the video card.

The software in the computer helps us to do many things. It is actually refers to all
programs like a word processor or a spreadsheet that enable the computer to do a
special work like typing, calculating or processing data. The software is also needed
for the hardware to work. For example, you’ll need a special program for the mouse
so that it can work as a mouse

A computer can store a lot of information for us. It can also arrange information
that we put into it and process them. When we ask the computer to show us certain
data, it will process the data and give us the result that we want to see. That’s how
we use the computer to type a document, do calculation or make presentation

A computer also allows us to get information through the Internet. We can also
send and receive information through the computer. This is possible because the
computer can communicate with other computers

Banks, hospitals, universities, schools offices, factories and even petrol stations use
computers to get work done more easily. It is therefore important to know how to use
a computer
