VPLEX Implementation
Course Description

Course Duration Overview

2 Days
This Video ILT course provides the learner with an in-depth understanding of
how to install, manage, monitor and maintain a functional VPLEX system.
Operational aspects of VPLEX (Local and Metro) using Unisphere for VPLEX and
the VPLEX CLI are covered. The installation of a VPLEX Metro system is
discussed and recorded lab exercises can be viewed (Note: the VPLEX
Installation and Setup module includes a downloadable interactive demo).
Provisioning virtualized storage from VPLEX to hosts and performing mobility
and mirroring operations on live virtual volumes is emphasized. Integration of
VPLEX into existing data centers with live production data and interoperability
considerations are included. This course is based upon GeoSynchrony v6.0,
with an appendix covering GeoSynchrony v6.0 SP1 differences.

Audience

This course is intended for any person who presently or plans to Architect and
implement VPLEX solutions.

Prerequisite Knowledge/Skills

To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student

should have knowledge and skills associated with the following:

 Storage Area Network (SAN) concepts

 IP networking basics
 EMC SAN implementation and Connectrix switch administration
 Storage provisioning procedures with EMC arrays
