Fabián Moscoso

An event that I think changed my life was found another musical gender.
I had been playing rock since I was teenager until I found jazz, this happened 4 years
ago, the impact that this caused in my life was very big, because I started to see music
in a very different way. At the beginning I realize that I had to learn a new language
and that scared me a little, I was used to take less time to practice, so jazz music made
me a more professional musician, because jazz requires a lot of study and the music
that I had done until then was more spontaneous. Jazz made me work harder and
made me found other musicians, musicians who have taught me the importance of
time and harmony.
Jazz has also made me know improvisation as another way of freedom, which can
only be reached by studying a lot like arpeggios, scales, rhythmic displacements,
dissonance harmonies and lots of other things. But the real challenge is that after
studying all this, this has to be transformed, into a musical idea.
Finally, playing jazz gave me the opportunity to work as a musician, because with this
genre you can earn some money by playing in another kind of places where people
pay to listen to music.
