Legislative

Teams

Holding our Elected Officals accountable.

LOUISIANA
INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION
Our Legislature has become a place that overwhelmed by
partisanship and political jockeying. Legislators need to be
reminded what their job is, That’s where you come in.

Legislative Accountability Teams will allow us to have a rapid

response when legislators vote against the best interest of
the people they serve (YOU). Legislators often talk about
conversations they have with members of their districts
when justifying their votes, with this project we will be able
to confront legislators with the fact that they had (X) number
of conversations to support/oppose a piece of legislation and
they openly went against those wishes.

As a member of a Legislative Accountability team you will

build a relationship with your legislators, become more
involved in the democratic process and hopefully create
meaningful change in your community and state.

“I would describe a demagogue as a politician

who don't keep his promises. " - Gov. Huey Long

FINDING YOUR LEGISLATORS

Find your Legislators at Louisianaprogress.org/LAT . Once you
have found your legislators, you can begin to get to know
them so that you will be a more effective voice in effecting
change.

One of the easiest ways to get in touch with your legislator, to

talk or schedule an appointment would be to get in touch
with their legislative assistant. You can find each legislator’s
assistant on their page, where you will also see contact info.
