ABSTRACT

The study was conducted to determine the effect of varying levels of Acacia

(Samanea saman) leaf meal to the growth performance of Broiler Gallus gallus domesticus

from November 2014 to March 2015 at Pulong Gubat, Balagtas, Bulacan.

Specifically, it sought to determine the growth performance of broiler in terms of

initial weight, average weekly gain weight, and final weight, as well the feed conversion ratio,

when fed by commercial feed as control variable and three varying levels of Acacia leaf

meal.

Experimental method was employed by the researcher with twenty (20) Broiler

chicks to be managed. Several procedures have done in observing and record the data needed

to solve the research’s problem.

Findings showed that most of the formulated feeds have greater value than the control

variable. Highly significant differences existed among the parameters in growth performance

of broilers except the initial weight. Likewise, highly significant difference was found among

the feed conversion ratio.

Based on the findings, it was concluded that acacia leaf meal have significant effects

of the growth performance Broiler Gallus gallus domesticus .

Several recommendations were offered by the researcher. As based on the findings and

conclusion. The researchers therefore recommend, in general, using the acacia (Samanea

saman) leaf meal as the feed ingredient to improve the growth performance of the Broiler

viii
Chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus). Farmers or feed milling companies must formulate feed

with 2.5% and less than 10% of acacia leaf meal as part limitation.
