NECK RIBBING AND YOKE

With smaller needles cast on 56 (60, 60, 64, 64) sts.
Join in the round being careful not to twist your sts. Place marker for beginning of round.

Round 1: *k1tbl, p1; repeat from * to BOR.
Repeat Round 1 until neck ribbing measures 4”.

Switch to larger needles.

Marker setup row: k7 (9, 9, 11, 11), PM, k21, PM, k7 (9, 9, 11, 11), PM, k21

These markers indicate divisions between right sleeve, front, left sleeve, and back sections.

Short-row shaping (optional):

Note: Short-row shaping will raise the back neck slightly. We recommend the German Short Row method – you can
find a great tutorial by VeryPink Knits on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52qy8OOb-s0

Knit across right sleeve, front, and left sleeve and then begin short-row shaping on back. Knit across back to 4 sts
before marker, turn, purl to 4 sts before marker, turn, knit to 2 sts before marker, turn, purl to 2 sts before marker,
turn. Knit to BOR (note that turn sts look like two sts because of the German Short Row method but are worked /
counted as 1).

Knit 1 round.

Begin raglan increases:

Round 1: [kfb, knit to 2 sts before raglan marker, kfb, k1] 4 times – 8 sts inc

Round 2: Knit (no increases)

Round 3: [Knit across sleeve stitches, SM, kfb, knit to 2 sts before raglan marker, kfb, k1] twice – 4 sts inc

Round 4: Knit (no increases)

Work rounds 1-4 a total of 15 (16, 18, 19, 21) times

For sizes S and L work rows 3 and 4 once more.

37 (41, 45, 49, 53) sts for sleeves, 81 (87, 93. 99, 105) sts for front / back each.

Separate body and sleeves:

Removing markers as you come to them, put 37 (41, 45, 49, 53) sleeve sts onto stitch holder or waste yarn, CO 1 st
using the backwards loop method, PM for new BOR, CO 1 more st, knit to next marker, put 37 (41, 45, 49, 53)
sleeve sts on to stitch holder or waste yarn, CO 1 st, PM for side, CO 1 st, knit to end – 166 (178, 190, 202, 214) sts.

BODY

Option #1 – Simple rolled hem

Work in stockinette until body measures 10.5” from underarm or until desired length.

Bind off.

Option #2 – Twisted rib / Split-hem

Work in stockinette until body measures 6 (6, 6.5, 7, 8)” from underarm or until desired length.
Note that ribbing will add 4” to front of sweater and 5” to the back.

Switch to smaller needles.

Row 1: *k1tbl, p1; repeat from * to 1 stitch before side marker, k1tbl.
Put next 83 (89, 95, 101, 107) back sts on a stitch holder or waste yarn - they will be worked later.

Turn and work flat across front as follows.

Row 2: *p1tbl, k1; repeat from * across 80 (86, 92, 98, 104) sts, p1tbl

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until front ribbing measures 4”
Bind off in pattern.

Put back sts on needles and, beginning with right side facing, work as for front until ribbing measures 5”.

Bind off in pattern.

SLEEVES

Put 37 (41, 45, 49, 53) sleeve sts on larger needles. Knit across these stitches, pick up and knit 2 sts from body at
underarm, place marker to indicate BOR, pick up and knit 1 more st from body at underarm. Join for working in
the round.

Knit until sleeve measures 6” from underarm – if you feel you need longer sleeves, add length here.

turtle dove 4

Switch to smaller needles.

Round 1: *k1tbl, p1; repeat from * to BOR.
Repeat Round 1 until cuff measures 2.5”.
Bind off in pattern.

FINISHING
Weave in ends and block. We found the Luft yarn blocked well with a light steaming.
