OSPREY / BY JACQUELINE CIESLAK

OSPREY is a squishy, simple pullover with clean lines and quiet texture. This pattern was adapted from PLOVER, the lightweight warm-weather cardigan in a

loose gauge that was originally published in Making No. 9 / SIMPLE. Knit in a heavier yarn at a denser gauge than Plover, Osprey includes 9 sizes and directions

and yarn requirements for two lengths (cropped/full length). This versatile pullover makes the perfect layering piece for any cool-weather wardrobe.

DETAILS
SIZING
Sizes (1, 2, 3) [4, 5, 6] {7, 8, 9} by finished bust circumference in inches/cm:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

inches 40 44 48 52 56 60 64 68 72

centimeters 101.5 112 122 132 142 152.5 162.5 172.5 183

To choose your size, measure the circumference around the fullest part of your bust, then add 6-14” (depending on how much ease you want) and choose
the closest size. If you are between sizes, you can size up or down depending on whether you want more or less ease in the bicep (see chart on last page for
full finished sweater schematics).
In the photos, Jacqui is wearing a size 6 with 6” of positive ease at the bust and 0” of ease at the bicep.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
This sweater is designed for a sport weight wool/wool blend. I knit my sample in The Farmers Daughter Fibers Recollect (57g / 185 yd / 169 m), a 100%
Montana Rambouillet wool with a loose ply that is super soft with a subtle tweedy texture.
NOTE: Osprey can actually be worked in anything from fingering to dk/worsted weight, depending on the type of fabric you want. I wrote a blog post with sample
gauge swatches in 3 different yarn weights that is available here: https://jacquelinecieslak.com/blog/yarn-substitution-at-different-weights.
