Auto Chess: APAC Rivals Rule Book

Please read through the following Ruleset carefully and thoroughly.


LAST UPDATED 10 SEPTEMBER 2019
1. Sign-up Qualification
Registration starts Tuesday, August 20th, 2019 and ends Sunday,
September 1st, 2019, 23:59 (GMT+8).

1-1. Sign-up must be completed via the Auto Chess: APAC Rivals Website
www.autochessrivals.com

1-2. Registration is free.

1-3. Participants details must be accurate upon signup. Incorrect details such as
nationality, country of residence, passport number, game ID and in-game name
would lead to a disqualification.

1-4. Participants must be at least 16 years of age to participate events, and with
written or in-person consent from parent or legal guardian if not of legal age in
their country of residency, for events with cash prizes.

1-5. No employees of FunEase, Drodo, IMBA TV or other associated companies,


and their respective parents, subsidiaries or affiliates should participate the
tournament. Nor should they ask for your game account information or make
charges in any way

1-6. The information you submit for the registration will only be used for contact,
examination of eligibility, administration affairs and identity verification. For any
purposes related to payment fulfillment and further identity verification, APAC
Rivals committee may reach out to participants and to collect further personal
and bank information (inclusive but not limit to ID information) at specific phases
of the competition

1-7. Be sure to whitelist official email address funease@funplusesport.com and


officialacr@funplusesport.com to the list of safe senders. Emails from the
APAC Rivals committee will be more likely to get through in a timely manner.
Discord will be used as an immediate form of communication on matchdays.

1-8. Participants who have advancing to the Regional Qualifiers, Regional Finals
and APAC: Rivals need to coordinate with announced schedule and other related
arrangements addressed by APAC Rivals committee.
1-9. Participants can withdraw at any time of the competition by contacting APAC
Rivals committee via funease@funplusesport.com. Please note a confirmation
email of withdrawal will be sent to the participant accordingly.

2. Prize Pool
2-1. Total prize pool for APAC: Rivals is $10,000 USD

2-2. To receive prize money via wiring transfer, participants must submit correct
personal and bank information and cooperate with APAC Rivals team within the
requested time frame.

2-3. Participants must finish all pre-scheduled matches announced by organizer.

2-4. Any prize money awarded to participants shall be inclusive of all applicable
taxes, VAT, withholding tax, surcharges, bank charges, service fees and any
other expenses of similar nature. Bank accounts must be able to accept USD.

2-5. Participants who are eligible for any prize money should be solely
responsible for all payment occurred from any authorities within jurisdiction in
compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

2-6. The prize money is expected to be processed within 90 days once the
personal and bank information has been received and confirmed by RGS Official
Committee
3. Player Restrictions
3-1. Player in-game names must be in English. Symbols and other languages are
strictly forbidden during the Regional Finals & APAC Rivals stage of the
tournament.

The following characters are the only permitted characters to be used in a name
within the character requirements set by Auto Chess: Origins game.
Lower Case: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
Upper Case: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Numbers: 1234567890

3-2. Player name cannot be identical to any specific terminology used in games

3-3. The APAC Rivals team has the right to approve or deny team names based
on legal or ethical grounds.

3-4. Player name, including spelling and substitution of letters and number, must
remain the same throughout the course of tournament, and may not be changed,
or the player could not enter the custom room.

3-5. Players may only register for the region represented by their country of
Residence or Citizenship. Other participants may still register for the Asian
Wildcard region of the tournament.

Example:
- An Australian player who lives in Singapore may join either SEA Rivals
(Residency) or OCE Rivals (Citizenship)
- A Japanese player who lives in Japan may only register for JAPAN Rivals.
- A Korean player who lives in Korea may only register for the Wildcard
tournament. However, a Korean player registered to play in Auto Chess
Invitational Korean Qualifier will be prioritize to play in that tournament instead
(the same rules applies for other regions such as Auto Chess Vietnam
Championship, Auto Chess Invitational China Qualifier, GLL Qualifiers etc)

3-6. Players must have a passport with a minimum of 1-year validity and 3 empty
pages.

4. Device Requirement
4-1. Players playing in the Ranked Online Qualifiers will be required to use the
Mobile Client (Android and/or iOS) for Auto Chess: Origin.

4-2. Players playing in the Regional Qualifiers will be required to use the
Mobile Client (Android and/or iOS) for Auto Chess: Origin.

4-3. Players playing in the Regional Finals & APAC: Rivals will be required to
use the PC Client from the Epic Games store for Auto Chess: Origin.

4-4. Mobile devices will not be allowed to participate beyond the Regional
Qualifiers stage including emulators used to replicate mobile play on PCs.

5. Participant Conduct
5-1. If any participants breach the Auto Chess: Origins User Agreement or
benefit themselves from using any unauthorized plugins to gain any unfair
advantage, the APAC Rivals committee has the authority to disqualify, suspend
and/or ban that specific player. The APAC Rivals committee has the ultimate say
that determines the severity of punishments.

5-2. No participants should involve themselves, be it directly or indirectly with any


form of betting and gambling from APAC Rivals.

5-3. APAC Rivals committee reserves the right to deny participation to any player
found to be in violation of stated restrictions, or to fine said team a percentage of
tournament winnings, or to issue a warning to said team, based on the severity of
violations

5-4. Players found to be in violation of stated restrictions must comply with any
and all APAC Rivals committee rulings and take immediate action to remedy
violations in order to continue participation in tournament

6. Schedule & Tournament Format

6-1 Ranked Online Qualifiers.


6-1a 32 players registered from each region will qualify based on their Auto
Chess ranked points. In the event that one of the top 32 players is ineligible for
the tournament through any means, the next player, 33, will be invited into the
tournament. This repeats until a full 32 players are selected from the Ranked
qualifiers.

6-1b Players can register at any time before Sunday, September 1st, 2019, 23:59
(GMT+8). Players accounts will be judged based on their ranked points at the cut
of time of Sunday, September 1st, 2019, 23:59 (GMT+8).
6-1c Players will be notified through an official email if they qualify for the
tournament. Players must respond to that email within 48 Hours and join the
official APAC Rivals Discord server or they may be replaced in the tournament.

6-1d Seeding
Players will be seeded based on their ranks at the end of the Ranked Online
Qualifiers.

32 players in SEA Rivals will be seeded evenly into 4 groups with 8 players
within each group.
32 players in Japan Rivals will be seeded evenly into 4 groups with 8 players
within each group.
32 players in Oceania Rivals will be seeded evenly into 4 groups with 8 players
within each group.
32 players in Wildcard Rivals will be seeded evenly into 4 groups with 8 players
within each group.
6-2 Regional Qualifiers
6-2a The Regional Qualifiers will take place between Saturday, September 7th,
2019 to Saturday, September 15th, 2019. These matches will not be broadcasted.

6-2b Players will need to play in these matches using the MOBILE VERSION of
Auto Chess: Origin.

6-3c Players will be notified of their official match time and schedule before the
3rd of September and will be updated based on their performance during the
Regional Qualifiers.

6-3d Each round in the Regional qualifiers will feature 2 matches and will apply
the official point and tie-breaking system as listed in this rule book.
6.3 Regional Finals
OCEANIA
6.3a The Oceania Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 1 and 2 will be played on the
Thursday, September 19th, 2019, 17:00 AEST(GMT+10) / 15:00 GMT+8

6.3b The Oceania Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 3 will be played on the
Saturday, September 28th, 2019, 17:00 AEST(GMT+10) / 15:00 GMT+8

WILDCARD
6.3c The Wildcard Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 1 and 2 will be played on the
Friday, September 20th, 2019, 17:00 GMT+8.

6.3d The Wildcard Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 3 will be played on the
Sunday, September 29th, 2019, 15:00 GMT+8.

JAPAN
6.3e The Japan Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 1 and 2 will be played on the
Saturday, September 21st, 2019, 17:00 GMT+9. / 16:00 GMT+8

6.3f The Japan Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 3 will be played on the Sunday,
September 29th, 2019, 18:00 GMT+9. / 17:00 GMT+8

SEA
6.3g The SEA Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 1 and 2 will be played on the
Sunday, September 22nd, 2019, 17:00 GMT+8.

6.3h The SEA Regional Finals (Top 16) Round 3 will be played on the Saturday,
September 28th, 2019, 19:00 GMT+8.

6-3i Players will need to play in these matches using the PC VERSION of Auto
Chess. Mobile users will not be able to participate in this phase of the
tournament. If a player is unaware of this rule, they will not be given extra time to
prepare for this stage and may face disqualification.

6-3j Players will be notified of their official match time and schedule before the
15th of September.

6-3k Round 1 & 2 of the Regional Finals will feature 2 games while Round 3 will
feature 5 games and will apply the official point and tie-breaking system as listed
in this rule book.
6.4 APAC Rivals
6.4a The APAC Rivals will be played on the Friday, October 4th, 2019, Saturday,
October 5th, 2019, 17:00 GMT+8 and Sunday, October 6th, 2019, 17:00 GMT+8.

6.4b Round 1 will feature 3 games, Round 2 will feature 5 games and Round 3
matches will feature 5 games.

6-4c Players will need to play in these matches using the PC VERSION of Auto
Chess. Mobile users will not be able to participate in this phase of the
tournament. If a player is unaware of this rule, they will not be given extra time to
prepare for this stage and may face disqualification.
6-4d Players will be notified of their official match time and schedule before the
24th of September.

6-4e Each round will apply the official point and tie-breaking system as listed in
this rule book.

6.5 Players are to report to the Discord server at the provided call time for the
day games. Failure to do so may result in penalties.

6.6 Players are required to join the game lobby at the provided time. Failure to do
so may result in penalties to their current standings, points or potential
disqualification.

6.7 If a player has not joined the game lobby 5 minutes after the provided start
time, they will be disqualified from the match.

6.8 If a player is late to join the game lobby 5 times over the course of the
tournament, they may be disqualified from the entire tournament.

6.9 If a player does not join the game lobby 5 minutes after the provided start
time 2 times over the course of the tournament, they may be disqualified from the
entire tournament.

7. Point System
7-1. In the event a match contains more than 1 round, the following point system
will apply

7-2. Tie-breakers will be applied in the following order: Game wins, highest
placement in a single game, highest Win Rounds/Lost Rounds difference, single
Win Rounds/Lost Rounds difference, single Round Wins.

7-3. APAC Rivals committee will ensure gameplay stability as best to their ability
during competition. However, the risk of encountering unexpected glitches or
game crashes may still exist. If any unexpected circumstances occur, APAC
Rivals committee may reserve the right to perform necessary actions

8. Spirit of the Rules


8-1. All decisions especially with regards to interpretation of any regulations,
player eligibility, scheduling, staging of the APAC Rivals committee, and
penalties for misconduct, lie solely with the APAC Rivals committee
8-2. APAC Rivals committee’s decision with respect to all the rules and
regulations cannot be appealed and shall not give rise to any claim for monetary
damages or any other legal or equitable remedy

8-3. All the given rules and regulations are subjected to modifications at APAC
Rivals committee’s ease to obtain the best interest of fair play and the integrity of
the APAC Rivals committee

8-4. APAC Rivals committee at all times may act as the necessary authority to
preserve the best interests of the APAC Rivals. This power is not constrained by
the lack of any specific languages in this document

8-5. APAC Rivals committee may use any forms of punitive actions at their
disposal against any entity whose conduct is not within the confines of the best
interests of the APAC Rivals

8-6. Players are expected to play at their best at all times and to avoid any
behavior inconsistent with the principles of good sportsmanship, honesty, or fair
play

9. Player Responsibility
All Players are responsible for ensuring the performance of their chosen setup,
including computer hardware and peripherals, internet connection, and power. A
problem with Player equipment is not an acceptable reason for lateness or
pausing beyond a Team’s allowance, regardless of the root cause of the
problem. The following actions will be considered unfair play and will be subject
to penalties at the discretion of APAC Rivals committee.

9-1 Collusion, collusion is defined as any agreement among two (2) or more
players and/or confederates to disadvantage opposing players. Collusion
includes, but is not limited to, acts such as:
- Soft play, which is defined as any agreement among two (2) or more players to
not damage, impede or otherwise play to a reasonable standard of competition in
a game.
- Pre-arranging to Split prize money and/or any other form of compensation.
Sending or receiving signals, electronic or otherwise, from a confederate to/from a
player.
- Deliberately losing a game for compensation, or for any other reason, or
attempting to induce another player to do so.

9-2 Players are expected to play at their best at all times within any APAC Rivals
game, and to avoid any behaviour inconsistent with the principles of good
sportsmanship, honesty, or fair play.
9-3 Hacking, hacking is defined as any modification of the Auto Chess game client
by any player, team or person acting on behalf of a player.

9-4 Exploiting. exploiting is defined as intentionally using any in-game bug to seek
an advantage. Exploiting includes, but is not limited to, acts such as: glitches in
using items, glitches in neutral minion interactions, glitches in chess piece ability
performance, or any other game function that, in the sole determination of APAC
Rivals committee, is not functioning as intended.

9-5 Ringing. Playing under another player’s account or soliciting, inducing,


encouraging or directing someone else to play under another player’s account.

9-6 Cheating Device. The use of any kind of cheating device or programs.

9-7 Unprofessional Behavior

9-8 Responsibility Under Code. Unless expressly stated otherwise, offenses and
infringements of these Rules are punishable, whether or not they were committed
intentionally. Attempts to commit such offenses or infringements are also
punishable.

9-9 Harassment. Harassment is forbidden. Harassment is defined as systematic,


hostile, and repeated acts taking place over a considerable period of time, which
are intended to isolate or ostracize a person and/or affect the dignity of the person.

9-10 Discrimination and Denigration Players may not offend the dignity or integrity
of a country, private person, or group of people through contemptuous,
discriminatory, or denigrating words or actions on account of race, skin color,
ethnic, national or social origin, gender, language, religion, political opinion or any
other opinion, financial status, birth or any other status, sexual orientation or any
other reason.

9-11 Non-Compliance. No player may refuse or fail to apply the instructions or


decisions of APAC Rivals committee.
9-12 Subjection to Penalty. Any person found to have engaged in or attempted to
engage in any act that APAC Rivals committee believes, in its sole and absolute
discretion, constitutes unfair play, will be subject to penalty. The nature and extent
of the penalties imposed due to such acts shall be in the sole and absolute
discretion of APAC Rivals.
10. Additional Provisions

10-1 Finality of decisions. All decisions regarding the interpretation of these rules,
Player eligibility, scheduling and staging of the APAC Rivals and penalties for
misconduct, lie solely with APAC Rivals, the decisions of which are final.

10-2 Right of modification. These rules may be amended, modified or


supplemented by the APAC Rivals, in order to ensure fair play and the integrity of
official APAC Rivals play. APAC Rivals shall not be liable for any claims, whether
based on a theory of reliance or otherwise, arising in connection with any such
amendment to APAC Rivals Official Rules.
