First Grade Homework Sheet

Week of January 21 to January 24, 2020


 Homework sheet is sent home the first day of the week. If your child is absent or loses
the homework sheet, you can obtain a copy from our school website:
www.PS136.weebly.com. On the homework sheet we will always include reminders.
 Homework is an important review of concepts learned in class. Be sure to complete
with your scholar each day.
****STUDENTS MUST COME TO SCHOOL WITH ALL MATERIALS EACH DAY TO BE
PREPARED TO LEARN. PLEASE SEND 4 SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL WITH Y0UR CHILD
EVERY DAY. PLEASE DO NOT SEND PENCIL SHARPENERS TO SCHOOL !!!
 If your child needs additional assistance to complete homework, please be sure an
adult sits with them to provide the guidance and support they need. Please also review
all work to be sure your child understands their work.
****Reading Homework Monday-Friday please do the following:
 Choose a book from your home, local library, or book baggie.
 After reading the book with a family member, please
RECORD YOUR BOOK IN YOUR READING LOG.
***Final Day to pay for our next trip to Queens College is this Friday!
The cost of the trip is $12.00. Payment will not be accepted after
Friday! Please notify your child’s teacher if you are interested in
attending the trip. Thank You!

***Friday is the schoolwide MLK, Jr. contest beginning at 8:30. We


hope to see you there to support our 1st grade and all contestants!
All students are asked to “Dress Their Best!”

Vocabulary: position, continues, phases, idea, invent

Phonics: Write each Word Work Word on an index card to practice each day at home to
prepare for assessment.
Math: Complete Worksheet
Reading: Complete Reading Worksheet and record book you have read on Reading Log.
Writing Enrichment: Write 5 complete sentences to describe your favorite season (winter,
spring, summer, or fall/autumn). Begin with an opening sentence, 3 details, and a concluding
sentence.
Wednesday Completed _________

Phonics: Write each word work word three times each.


Math: Complete worksheet
Math Enrichment: Solve the following problem in your notebook.
 The school basketball team won the game. The final score was a two digit number. The
digit in the tens place was the number that is between 2 and 0. The digit in the ones
place was the sum of 2 and 0. What was the final score of the winning team?
 Explain your answer.
Reading: Complete Reading Worksheet and record book you have read on Reading Log.

Thursday Completed _________

Phonics: Use each vocabulary word in a complete sentence so that it shows you understand
the word. Remember to underline the vocabulary word.
Handwriting: Complete next two pages in Handwriting workbook. (Please do not go
ahead).
Math: Complete worksheet
Reading: Complete Reading Worksheet and record book you have read on Reading Log.
***Tomorrow is the final day to pay for our trip to Queens College !!
The cost of the trip is $12.00, plus $12.00 for chaperones !!
