1. DOH confirms Philippines' 8th case of polio in Basilan

✓ A 9-year-old girl from Basilan is the latest known case of polio in the country. Out of the 8
cases, 7 are from Mindanao

✓ The DOH is coordinating with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao's
Ministry of Health to maximize immunization coverage and intensify polio vaccination efforts in
Basilan

✓ Starting Monday, the DOH is conducting the next round of Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio until
December 7 in Metro Manila and Mindanao. All children under 5 years old, regardless of
immunization status, are eligible to receive a dose of OPV free of charge

project covering a 13-hectare property inside the famous Puerto Azul complex.

2. ‘Volunteer’ SEA Games stadium worker fractured skull in fall –doctor

✓ The construction worker who fell off scaffolding at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila had
a fractured skull

✓ According to information provided by 46-year-old victim Richard Delos Santos' attending


physician at the Ospital ng Maynila, Delos Santos was conscious but still under observation due to
a blood clot in his head.

✓ Rather, he was one of the 27 workers from the Department of Public Works and Highways who
were originally based in Sta. Mesa, Manila

3. Kasambahay in NCR may get P1,500 wage hike – DOLE

✓ Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said at a press briefing Tuesday that the Regional Tripartite
Wages and Productivity Board – National Capital Region (NCR) has approved the granting of a
P1,500 wage increase to domestic workers in Metro Manila.

✓ Based on Republic Act 10361 or the Domestic Workers Act, the minimum monthly salary of
domestic workers in the NCR was set at P2,500 perNOVEMBER 28, 2019

1. PHL Red Cross gives polio drops to 22,000 kids

✓ A TOTAL of 22,029 children in Metro Manila and Mindanao were vaccinated by the Philippine
Red Cross (PRC) at the start of the second round of Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio for children
ages zero to five years old from November 25 to December 7.

✓ PRC’s target for the 12-day period is 100,000 children, an average of 8,000 to 9,000 per day for
both Metro Manila and Mindanao

✓ A total of 1,113 volunteers and 73 staff were mobilized for this project: 633 volunteers in
Metro Manila and 480 volunteers in Mindanao.

2. Cops arrest 22 vape users in Metro Manila


✓ Authorities have so far arrested a total of 22 vape ban violators in public places in Metro
Manila, Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) acting chief

✓ As of 9 a.m. Monday, there were 675 police operations conducted where 408 vape stores
inspected out of 449 stores in Metro Manila resulted in 238 stores closed and 61 vapes confiscated

2. 2 deaths reported in Surigao Sur due to red tide

✓ A day after the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Caraga Region (BFAR-13) issued
a warning to the public to refrain from eating all types of shellfish from Lianga Bay due to the
presence of a toxic microorganism, health authorities confirmed the death of a couple due to
shellfish poisoning

✓ a couple identified as both of Purok 3, Barangay Kinayan, Barobo, Surigao del Sur were rushed
to the Lianga District Hospital when both lost consciousness after consuming shellfish from
Lianga Bay.
