About the Sea Otter

By: Nevaeh Davies

Mutation
Mutation is a change in DNA and is related to evolution by being
passed on to different generations and is discovered as a new
species.
#1 Adaptation
Otters have long whiskers so they can detect vibrations in murky
water.

Their whiskers also detect presence of prey or potential

predators lurking in the water.
#2 Adaptation

Otters also have sensitive forepaws that help them groom their
fur, capture underwater prey, and use various tools.
Common Relative
Otters are part of the mustelidae family, which proves that they
are related to badgers as well as other animals. Otters and their
relatives have long bodies, short legs, a small head, an dense
fur.
