The discussion pertained to a comparative analysis of the Patent Law in different jurisdictions
including India on the Rights of a co-owner of a Patent Invention and the Rights of co-owners inter-se
with respect to the sale, use, transfer and licence of a patent. A comprehensive analysis was made by
her in so far as the position of law stands in different jurisdictions and how this issue can have very
varied legal implications upon the nature of the patent right that the joint patent holders have been
endowed with under the State Patent Law. The seminar talk ended with a question answer session
which involved an interactive session among all the student and IP Law Faculty Members present at
the session.
There was also a session organised on September 10, 2019, with the students of Centre for IP Law,
ILNU and the Faculty Heads for the Centre. This session pertained to a discussion on the research
projects that the students in the centre propose to undertake. One such proposal pertained to the
Empirical research on Geographical Indications in the State of Gujarat with respect to the Economic
viability and Market Potential for a registered GI.
