LESSON # 8

FOLD IN, COPY AND PASTE SEGMENT, SWAP SEGMENT

1. OPEN the file named BLOUSE.DSN


2. Bring the Sleeve into the working area.
3. Select the FOLD IN tool.
4. Hold the ALT KEY and click on point #3
5. move mouse to point #5 and hold ALT KEY and click.
6. Click OK

THE TOP HALF OF SLEEVE HAS FOLDED TO THE BOTTOM HALF

7. Use the MOVE POINT tool to fix the point at cuff (point #1)
8. Click on the FOLD OUT tool.
9. Click on the mirror line of sleeve.
10. Click on the internal line to fold out. The sleeve is fixed.
11. With the SELECT TOOL click on the old internal segment and press Delete
Key.
12. Save the file as BLOUSE 8
COPY AND PASTE SEGMENT
1. OPEN the file BLOUSE.DSN
2. Go to the Edit Menu and choose Make Pieces and MAKE A RECTANGLE with
Length of 15 inches and Width of 15 inches. Bring it to the working area
3. Bring the Sleeve piece to the working area.
4. Select the Sleeve cap Segment with the SELECT TOOL. (CLICK AND DRAG
FROM POINT #3 TO POINT #5)
5. Go to the Edit Menu, Click on Segment, and click on COPY. The segment has
been copied to the windows clipboard.
TO SEE THE CLIPBOARD GO TO EDIT,…. SEGMENT,…. SHOW. THIS
SEGMENT MAY BE PASTED ONTO ANY PIECE.

6. To Paste the segment onto the Rectangle: Select the Rectangle. Go to Edit
Menu…..Segment……and click on PASTE BETWEEN 2 POINTS.
7. Click on point #3 on rectangle and then on point #4.
8. The segment has been Pasted onto the rectangle as an Internal Contour.

SWAP SEGMENT
This tool is used to convert an internal contour to an external contour.

9. Click on the SWAP SEGMENT tool.


10. Click on the first point of EXTERNAL contour.
11. Click on the last point of EXTERNAL contour.
12. Click on the first point of INTERNAL contour.
13. Click on the last point of INTERNAL contour.
A NEW DIALOG APPEARS

14. Click OK. The segments have been Swaped.


15. Select the Internal line and Delete. Name the piece as New Sleeve.
16. Save the file as BLOUSE 9.
