LESSON # 2

ALIGN POINTS , ROTATE SEGMENT, ROTATE CONTOUR, ROUND CORNER

ROUND CORNER.

1. OPEN the file named SHORT.DSN.

2. Remove the Rt. Back piece from working area.

3. Use the ZOOM ALL tool to center the piece on working area.

4. Use the SELECT TOOL to select the segment from point #1 to #2.
Segment will be highlighted.

5. Click on the ALIGN POINTS tool.

6. Click the button HORIZONTAL. Notcie that all the points aligned to the first
point horizontally.

7. Click the UNDO button.

8. Repeat steps 4 and 5.

9. Change the reference point to the last point.

 10. Click the Horizontal button and notice the points are now aligned to point #2.

11. Click the REMOVE CURRENT tool to send piece to menu.

ROTATE SEGMENT
1. Select piece Lt. Back from piece menu.

2. Select the ROTATE SEGMENT tool.

3. Click on point #4 to set as a pivot point. Notice the X mark.

4. Click and Drag the mouse from point #2 to #4.

5. Click on any point from the highlighted segment and move mouse to new location
and click. For this lesson we will increase at the waistline 1 inch.

6. Type in the value in the distance field and click OK.

THE SEGMENT WAS PIVOTED. THE SEGMENTS’ LENGTH DID NOT CHANGE IT
WAS ONLY ROTATED TO A NEW LOCATION.
7. SAVE the file with new name SHORT2.

ROUND CORNER Select the piece named Pocket from Piece menu.

1. Click on point # 8 with SELECT TOOL

2. Hold the Shift key and Click on point #2

3. Click the ROUND CORNER tool and type in a radius value of 1. Notice the
corners are now rounded.

4. Click on point #1 and use delete key. The line is now straight on bottom of
pocket.

5. Click the REPLACE OLD tool to update the changes made to the pocket.
6. Click Save to store the file to disk.
