VERMICULTURE AN INVESTIGATION

INTRODUCTION

Concerning urban or rural development planning, one of the present-day challenges for local authorities
is how to put in place efficient waste management programs and strategies. The promotion and
implementation of vermiculture are highly recommended as one effective strategy for reusing, recycling and
reducing biodegradable wastes. Vermiculture is a practical and inexpensive solution, which can be
implemented by every household or by local communities in cities, urban and rural areas.

OBJECTIVE

(1) Enable the learners to know the process of vermicomposting and the requirements for producing
vermicompost.
(2) This project aims to promote organic fertilizer applications to local farmers.
