Nokia Mobiles Product Life Cycle(PLC)(1997 to 2019) starts with Introduction of antenna less

phones in 1997. The first model was satellite based concept phones(Nokia 2110), it was the first
handset having capability of sending and receiving SMS. Soon after launch of brand, in 1998 it
overtook Motorola to become largest mobile phone selling brand.

In the Growth Phase(2002 to 2009), Nokia launched various new series like E-Series and N-
Series mobile, which are huge success for the company, company also launched many new
features like Games, Alarm, Ergonomic Keyboard, Slider and bigger Display mobiles.

In the Maturity Phase(2009 to 2012) company launched many new feature-packed symbian OS
based touch mobile Like N97 and N-900. Many of these phones are touch screen + qwerty
keyboard based mobile.

In the Decline Phase(2013-2014), company make a joint venture and launched Windows OS
based Lumia series phones and Asha Series. As the Sales of company keep on declining, the
company fails to attract new customer and sales keep on declining.

Soon Microsoft purchased the Finnish company in 2014.

The company is trying to reintroduce itself currently and is in Re-Introduction Phase with
mobile manufactured by HMD Globals.

Recommendations

 Walk with the Market.

 Launch frequent devices as other companies are doing.

 Survey the market at regular intervals.

 Re-positioning of Image in customer mind.

 Launch innovative and differentiated products for customer attention.
