What Does It Mean To Be Human?
When it comes to any type of question out of the box all I could ever
think of is how can this relate to being a part of the bible, God is the creator of
everything including us in which we are humans way different from every individual
being. Humans tend to be a nonsecular component: a soul or spirit. Every part of the
body/one being is different from each of us, by the way, we intellect, emotion, and will.
We are all created by the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Human beings are dissimilar
from their angels, but to go more into the topic there are many unbiblical views of
what it is meant what to be a human, for instance, we are able to see the view being
taken in Gnosticism the meaning of mankind essentially pure to the spiritual entity in
bonds by an awkward corrupted body. Another way that we can see how we view
mankind is through naturalism meaning just to be something or someone with no
type of spirit or soul such as not having feelings, thoughts, or experience no sort of
biblical support since it could also be inferred that it could be a chemical product
within the brain, I mean if it makes any type of sense.
The biblical meaning of human means to be an image of God in different
types of ways. We were all created to be relatively to be like him in the way of how
mankind has emotions, volition, creativity in a way where we create types of arts. We
have a tendency to possess learning thousands of words and new words in which is
the gift of language, we are also just like Adam ( Genesis 2:19 -20) in the same way
that we are created by God i n such a different way such as having dignity and
inherited significance.
To be human is to have the needs of body, soul, and spirit. As humankind,
we need to feed our bodies by receiving food, drink, and rest in order to survive.
Additionally, our spirits must keep the word of God and have a sort of relationship
with Christ (Luke 4:4; John 6:35) anyone who refuses the word of God denies three
parts to his or her humanity “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever
comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36
But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.”.
To be human means to be morally responsible. We have the ability to
perceive what is right and wrong in this case I’m talking about Adam he sets a good
example of the moral choice he made by disobeying his creator also known as God
(Genesis 2:16-17). All humankind shares the same type of moral responsibility we can
differ from what is right or wrong in which we then recognize our mistakes (Ezekiel
18:20) “ The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the
wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them”.
To be human means to be sinful. We are all sinners and have broken
God’s law at one point in our life, unfortunately, this is what causes us to separate
ourselves from our creator and this is what has made us be spiritually dead
(Ephesians 2:1-10). God is so big that we are not remained to stay spiritually away
from him, this is because Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross so our sins can be
forgiven and so we can maintain our spiritual relationship with God (John 3:16-18;
Ephesians 2:8-9). This is why every time you sin you have to confess with a priest
before receiving or in order to receive the body and blood of the lord in which it is
bread being transformed into the body of Christ and wine transformed into the blood of
the Lord but in order to receive this you need to become closer with God and this is
why you have to make your first communion and confirmation to be spiritually closer
to God. If you are closer to God you are able to understand the meaning of what is
meant to be a human, in the Bible, it says that the S on of God took human flesh and
became the Son of Man as well and that’s why I previously said that you had to
become spiritually close to God in order to become his son or daughter this also refers
to those who had put their faith to Christ are rewarded his righteousness
(2 Corinthians 5:17. As a believer in God, I do believe that those who believe in him as
well and are spiritually connected towards him are rewarded in heaven I can
guarantee that anyone who believes in him and constantly goes to church are living a
happy life you can instantly feel different in a spiritual way this is why those who
believe will experience a shift of the dishonesty and will wipe every tear ( referred to
being at a Happy/Peaceful place ). In the Bible part ( John 3:3) it says “ Very truly I tell
you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again” meaning those
are the only humankind that are able to be with him forever. We are made new (2
Corinthians 5:17).
In the end, being a humankind is not enough. God has a purpose for every
individual and has assigned to us to play a role in which we have a purpose, therefore
we all have the same importance in God’s eyes but we can also be limited to our own
decisions or capabilities. Ultimately, to be a human means to be loved by our God and
given the chance of becoming his children (John 1:12; 3:16).
