1 PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to outline the method of alignment of piperack
foundations.

2 SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement covers the method of alignment for the piperack
foundations at east west piperack corridor.

3 REFERENCES
Specifications, Standards, Quality Control Procedures and Test Plans.

4 RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES


The civil field engineer and civil foreman are directly responsible for ensuring
that all work is carried out in accordance with this procedure and the above
references.

5 WORK PROCEDURE
1.1 Procedure

 Mark up center line, edge line/corner of foundation on lean concrete.


 Nail wooden stopper at marked corner edge line.
 Set up counter weight blocks near the sides of concrete and install 2
hydraulic jacks parallel to the sides of concrete footings, on the face
opposite the wooden stopper. The jacks shall be positioned at two points
on the foundation to ensure parallel movement.

 Pump the hydraulic jack slowly to push the footings until it touches the
wooden corner stoppers. Check if the face of the foundation is parallel to
the stopper and touches the stopper.
 Carry out survey to check the final alignment.
 United shall witness the survey to check proper alignment.

2.0 TOOLS / EQUIPMENT


 Counterweight blocks, (25 T)
 Hydraulic Jacks (100 T) – 2 nos.
 Crane
 Survey Equipment

3.0 QUALITY CONTROL (QA/QC)


All stages of work and testing shall be documented as per the approved
Inspection and Test Plan.

4.0 SAFETY
Execution of all the works shall meet with the relevant codes and practice
for Site Health and Safety as detailed in the approved safety plan.
