ARP Description of Stud or Bolt including ARP recommended Size 4G63 With ARP
Part No. assembly instructions (mm) Block Moly Lube
Torque Steps
4G63 M11 head stud kit 12pt
207-4702  Use threadlocker/sealant only to hand tighten studs into block
80ft-lbs
under cut  Use ARP Moly on the top half of the stud and nut when assembling
studs  Ensure head is torqued down BEFORE threadlocker/sealant cures 80-80-80
 If preferred, use the special undercut head studs which equalizes the "stretch" of 11 7 bolt or if preferred
both studs, which makes for a more consistent clamping force - and one that
Alternatively compensates for head gasket compression when the cylinder head is installed. This 40-60-80
use helps prevent a blown head gasket, and assures optimum engine sealing!
207-4203  Because the head gasket will compress upon initial torquing, make sure studs and
bolts are re-torqued after the engine has been run
4G63 M11 head stud kit 12pt – L19 Spec
L19 is a very high strength material compared with 8740 (standard ARP headstuds)
and is capable of delivering a clamp load at 260,000 psi. It is primarily used in 100ft-lbs (moly)
ARP-L19-7 35+psi short track and drag racing applications where inertia loads exceed the
L19 studs clamping capability of ARP2000. Like most high strength, quench and temper steels 11 7 bolt 120ft-lbs (oil)
- L19 requires special care during manufacturing to avoid hydrogen embrittlement. It
is easily contaminated and subject to stress corrosion. It must be kept well-oiled and Step as reqd
not exposed to moisture. Individually wrapped in special wax paper to prevent
moisture until ready for use
4G63 M10 main stud kit 12pt
 For permanent install into block threadlock sparingly finger tight!
 Else, use ARP Moly lube and hand tighten stud into block. 60ft-lbs
207-5401 10 7 bolt
 Use ARP Moly on the top half of the stud and nut when assembling 60-60-60
 Tap caps and ends of crank gently with rubber mallet to aid settling
 Torque the caps down BEFORE threadlocker/sealant cures
4G63 M8 rod bolts
 Only use ARP Moly when assembling ARP rod bolts 37ft-lbs
107-6002 8 7 bolt
 ARP paper inside box is unavailable at this time. 37-37-37
 ARP catalog for this part number shows 0.0069 inches +/- 0.0001”
4G63 Harmonic Balancer/ Pulley bolt
207-2501  M14 x 1.5 14 7 bolt 87ft-lbs
 19mm socket size 12pt
4G63 M12 head stud kit 12pt

NOTES FOR TORQUING ARP BOLTS:
 Torque values listed are equal to 75% of fastener’s yield strength.
 ARP recommends using ARP Moly to lube the threads of the bolt and nut face before assembly.
 ARP recommends using the STRETCH METHOD for stretching bolts to the desired preload. If you do not have a Stretch Gauge or micrometer to
measure stretch within the specified specs and only have a Torque wrench available, then after installing the bolts torque to the first torque
setting, then loosen the nuts. Then torque a second time and loosen the nuts again. Then torque to the correct spec on the third and final time.
The ARP catalog advises that rod bolts may require tightening and loosening through 5 cycles before applying the final torque if you are not using
a stretch gauge. Always replace rod bolts when original lengths of bolts have reached the stretch limit, or if preferred with every motor teardown.
For those using Newton/meters (Nm) as a torquing reference, you must multiply the appropriate ft lbs factor by 1.356
