1 Purpose of this Document
The purpose of this test document is to facilitate test planning, test execution, test review, and
corrective action to plans developed for CarPro.
This document can be considered a “baseline” throughout the phases of the exercising process,
independent of the type of exercising being performed.

Instructions to Participants

 This is a drill test designed to assess existing plans and procedures as a tool to manage a corporate
response.
 The test has been designed the situations to be as realistic as possible. If we have missed the mark,
work through the problem to the best of our ability.

Simulation Team Guidelines


 Know the test plan and the messages
 Know where the test is going
 Know your resources
 Know your messages
 Follow instructions
 Provide realistic time frames to callers
 Use spontaneous yet realistic messages
 Deliver messages at the stated time
 React convincingly to the message recipient’s comments
 Ensure that key messages are kept active until they have been addressed
 The simulation coordinator monitors messages and keeps the simulation team on track
 Respond to participants’ requests and actions
 Repeat information if asked
 Stay on track with the script and objectives
 Keep the simulation room scribe informed on impromptu stories
 Report issues to the simulation room coordinator
 If a phone is used, answer it with, “May I help you?”

 The simulation room should be located near the test room
 Have a sufficient number of phones
 Key messages need to be noted for tracking
 The room needs to have adequate room and wall space

 Once the test is underway, stay in your assigned role as much as possible
 Check with the facilitator if you have any questions

1. Documents Lost – Electronic (in large numbers & Specific Documents) – Data folders of a
particular client was lost due to the error of project executive. - Test took place on 24th Nov,
2017. A total of 4 Participants took part in the test. Data was restored from the weekly backups.
Out of 4 participants, 1 responded to the written evaluation & rest provided verbal feedback.
2. Email or Network Down - Due to maintenance activity @ Service provider’s data center, the
email services was down. Test took place on 24th Nov, 2017. A total of 8 Participants took part
in the test. Out of 8 participants, all responded to the written evaluation.
3. Hardware Problems - Failure of Notebook pc – provided an alternate notebook Pc to user along
with the data. Test took place on 24th Nov, 2017. A total of 3 Participants took part in the test.
Out of 3 participants, 1 responded to the written evaluation.

4. Power Unavailable - Power was not available due to a short circuit in the mail supply – The test
took place on 24th Nov, 2017. A total of 8 participants took part in the test. Out of 8 participants,
2 people responded to the written evaluation & 6 people gave verbal feedback.

5. Software – HR/Finance System Down - The Test took place on 24th Nov, 2017. Reinstalled the
Faulty application & system was back to production. A total of 4 participants took part in the
test. Out of 4 Participants, 2 people responded to the written evaluation & others gave verbal
feedback.
