Moscow - A Russian journalist has uncovered evidence of another Soviet nuclear catastrophe,
which killed 10 sailors and contaminated an entire town. Yelena Vazrshavskya is the first
journalist to speak to people who witnessed the explosion of a nuclear submarine at the naval
base of shkotovo – 22 near Vladivostock.

The accident , which occurred 13 months before the Chernobyl disaster , spread radioactive
fall-out over the base and nearby town , but was covered up by officials of the Soviet Union.
Residents were told the explosion in the reactor of the Victor-class submarine during a redit had
been a ‘thermal’ and not a nuclear explosion. And those involved in the clean up operation to
remove more than 600 tones of contaminated material were sworn to secrery.

A board of investigators was later to describe it as the worst accident in the history of the
Soviet Navy.

Tangerang Floodwaters Rose

Tangerang Disaster Mitigation (Tagana) teams avacuated hundreds of residents from their
homes in the Ciledug Indah housing complex in Ciledug district Tangerang after floodwaters
inundated the area on Wednesday.

Water of up to 50-centimeters deep began to inundate the housing complex on Tuesday. By

Wednesday morning, the water reached up to two meters in some parts of the complex. Many
vehicles belonging to residents were also trapped in the flood because the owners did not have a

Actor Didi Petet dies aged 58

Veteran actor Didi Widiatmoko , populary known as Didi Petet , died at the age of 58 at his
residence in Sasak Tinggi , Ciputat , South Tangerang , on Friday morning.

Didi’s niece Muthia Kautsar said that Didi , who started in a number of comedy and drama
films in the 1980s and 1990s , collapsed and lost consciousness when attending an expo in Milan
, Italy , recently. “He just arrived home on May 10 after attending the exhibition. In that city , he

On Tuesday , Didi was taken to Bandung for treatment. Didi’s son Anji and iqbal said no

Students Arrested for Doing Pepper Spraying

For about 100 students at a suburban Atlanta high school were evecuated on Wednesday
morning after a material was released in a school hallway.

It noticed that something was causing teachers and students to cough during a class change
Wednesday morning. It started around 10:15 a.m. when students and teachers in the school’s
building before classes resumed a short time later. Security cameras inside the school caught the
