Some clarifications from Leadership this week…

● Remind students earbuds should be limited to one ear. This is a safety precaution. Emergency
announcements or instructions could be needed at anytime.
● Please watch times on each schedule especially lunch bells.
● Learner Profiles are an expectation. PLC/Departments may use a common Learner Profile. Your
department chairperson will be sharing more information.
● Remember Clubs start on Wednesday, September 18… Mr. Froehbrodt will be sending additional
information.
● If you observe students parking in lots other than the student parking lot, please make Mr. Ford, Mr.
Payton, or Mr. Creech aware. Students should not park in the staff parking lot.
● Class tardies and absences to your classes should have begun by now. Remember to contact parents,
coaches, and other support persons if students are accumulating several tardies and absences. The referral
should not be the first line of communication. Remember habitual tardies could be a sign of skipping and
should be written up accordingly.

Some miscellaneous notes...

● Grades need to be updated every week and every few days if possible. Parents and families and several
SSS staff will be checking for student progress.
● Communicate with parents! The report card should not be a first-line communication tool. If you need
help identifying additional numbers, please see Ms. Edwards in Student Services, Ms. Ellis in Attendance
or Ms. Jackie in ALC.
● Remember to finalize your Self Assessment and initial PDP in the Observation System. See Ms. Huber
if you have any problems. First round observations will begin soon.
● There is no substitute for presence! Do your best to be at school every day from now until the end of the
school year! No one can replace you in the classroom! No one!

A few thoughts about being out...

● Be at school everyday… Remember no one can teach the way you do! You matter!
● Keep your AESOP information handy! See Ms. Ellis if you need your login and password information.
You can use AESOP until 5:45 am. Afterward, you will have to call or text Ms. Ellis about your absence.
● Remember you must send lesson plans if you are out! Send them to Ms. Ellis and CC a colleague too!
● Lesson plans should include a class roster, duty instructions, lunch instructions, daily schedule and
important routines like hall sweeps and the 10/10/30 rule.
● Leave forms should be filled out as soon as you return. Please remember this important step as it improves
the payroll process and reduces the potential for errors.
● Remember you are not supposed to take off the day before or the day after a holiday. Please see Mr.
Allen if you have specific questions. Personal days must be submitted five days prior to an absence.
