A SPECIALIZED DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE

I. Objectives
At the end of the period, the students are expected to:
A. define light and light principles,
B. observe light behaviour through an experiment, and
C. enumerate the importance of light in our daily life.
II. Subject Matter
A. Topic: “Light”
B. Specific Idea to Tackle:
 Light is energy.
 White light can be separated into red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and
violet.
 Rainbow is a white light separated by rain droplets.
 Colours have different temperature based on their energy possessed.
 Light is very important because of its many uses and application in our daily life.
C. Processes Skills: The Use of the Scientific Method
1. Listen and observe.
2. Ask question.
3. Create logical guess (hypothesizing)
4. Have an experiment and observe.
5. Draw conclusion.
6. Write and recite or deliver your
confirmed result
D. References: Science K to 12 Module for 9th Grade
(simplified for grade school learners)
E. Materials: aerosol spray, four laser pointers, four glass rods, four magnifying lenses, 25
balloons, four plastic bottles filled with water, coloured papers, marker, four glass prism, four
plastic bottles with small holes, one small electric motor, ten alligator clips, battery and a photo
resistor.
F. Value Focus:
APPRECIATE THE IMPORTANCE OF LIGHT

III. Instruction / Learning Teacher’s Instruction and Task Students’ Response to the Task
Procedure
(Using the prescribed 7 E pedagogical (This indicates the teacher’s given instruction (This indicates the expected response of the
approach to learning) and directions to the learners) learners to the direction given)
