Our Trip To Jakarta

Last Thursday, we went to Jakarta to make our visit to some certain places. We went there for
some purpose, the main reason was to do the field trip. One day before we went to Jakarta,
Languages’ teachers told us divide into some groups in order to make our journey about what
we got there.

On the D-day, we gathered at the Baros street near the turnpike. We should have been there
around 5 am in order to avoid the traffic jam. But, we accidently had to wait for some people
because they were late. We officially went to Jakarta by using the buses at 05:30 am.

Around one hour after –06.30 am, we visited the rest area of the turnpike in case if there were
some of us that crazily need to go to bathroom. Some of us went to the bathroom too, because
we know it would be a really long journey ahead so we didn’t want to take any risks. Some of
us went to the store to buy a couple of snacks.

After we did our thing at the rest area, we continued our trip again. The very first place to go
was the National Library of Indonesia. The trip was save, the turnpike was not crowded. All
of us were singin along to the karaoke the bus gave. We sang along to Jaran Goyang, Sayang,
etc. The atmosphere was happy.

And finally we arrived in Jakarta. Our bus somehow parked in the empty lot. The teachers
went down to check if the situation was alright. A couple of our friends went down too
because they need to use the bathroom. And finally all of us gathered again and our bus.
When all of us were blabbering about some unnecessary things, the tour guide asked for our
attention all of sudden. We started to be both curious and confused. We guessed what may
happen.

The tour guide finally spoke up and explained that we visited the wrong place, so we have to
turn around in order to go to the right path. Some of us laughed because they thought that was
so hilarious to be true. And the rest of it felt a little disappointed because that means that we
already wasted a lot of time spending it on the wrong way.

We finally went on our trip again to the right place. We saw a lot of building there. Jakarta
ruled by those skyscrapers. Whatever road we chose, we must have found at least one
skyscraper there. To be honest, the city of Jakarta is quite neat and clean. We can see a high
lifestyle even though we just passed by it. But unfortunately, the coastal area is on the
opposite side with the city ones. It's so crowded and dirty. Garbage and rubbish are
everywhere. We wonder why they can stay there for a long-long time.

After that we finally arrived at our first destination, The National Library of Indonesia. We
were amazed at how the building looks at our first glance. It is so tall and huge. We became
more amazed again when we entered the building itself. A 24-floor-tall-bookshelf welcomed
us. It’s located in the center of the building.

We took the escalator to reach the 4th floor. We put our bags there and then continued our
road to the 21st floor. We had to reach that floor by lift because they didn’t serve any
escalator to that floor. The situation around those lifts was really crowded. Couple of us had
our head dizzy due to that. And then there was a security that told us to go down the stair and
enter the lift there.

We rushed while going down the stairs because who loves to wait? No one, including us.
After we reached the 3rd floor, we went to the lift area and waited a lil bit then finally, we
entered that lift. The situation was a little bit awkward in the lift because there was no one
who spits the topic to be discussed.

Instead of breaking the ice, we chose to be quiet. Drown in our own mind. After a long way
road, we reached the 21st floor with those weird lift sounds. The teachers told us to enjoy the
scenery from the 21th floor because we rarely do that since our house just usually have 2
floors. There, we could look like almost all places in Jakarta. We also took a lot of pictures
there.

After that selfie thingy, we went to the 24th floor by lift. For this time, we had to wait for a
long time, waiting the lift to be empty. But finally, we could go to the 24th floor safely after
that. Again, this time there was nothing but silence. Glad that we didn’t spend a long time in
the lift.

On the 24th floor, there was a lot of type book. But, most of the books are about laws and
economy. Some of us read about the law books. Some of us not. But they took a lot of great
pictures for the observation purpose. After that we gathered again in the 4th floor. After all of
us finally there, we went again to the bus going to the next place.
