NOTE: Some of these recruitments also require you to visit the war room
just after the event listed, once you have your HQ. If you can't seem to
recruit a character, try visiting the war room first. Also important is
that you recruit people before going to wherever the plot tells you to go
next. Certain characters (such as Jeane) cannot be recruited while you're
in the midst of a sequence of events.

NOTE 2: As a general rule of thumb, you should never turn down anybody when
the chance comes up to recruit them. This is often a good way to miss out
on them for good.

Before Battle of Rainwall

After Battle of Rainwall

- Talk to him and ask him to join you

[ ] Cornelio
- Defeat DoReMi Elves in his house
- Agree to help him find DoReMi Elves
! You must recruit Cornelio before the Battle of Raftfleet

[ ] ReMiFa
- Have Cornelio tame it during his recruitment scenario
- If you missed that chance, it can be got later near Estrise

[ ] FaSoLa
- Encounter and tame with Cornelio (found in forest south of Rainwall)

[ ] Sairoh
- Buy at least 6 Salt
- Talk to Sairoh until he says salt prices are on the rise
- Sell all 6 Salt to the merchant next to Sairoh
- Talk to Sairoh again and let him join
After Battle of Raftfleet

= If you get impatient, you'll have to exit to the world map and talk to
him again

[ ] Takamu
- Free him from his cell with Cius or Lelei
- Head downstairs to the storeroom and get his map supplies
- Agree to let him join your party

After getting Dawn Rune

- Complete the sequence regarding Oboro and Norden in Rainwall
- Talk to Norden in Raftfleet to recruit him
= If you failed to finish the Oboro mission, talk to him in Lordlake after
Lordlake is restored and let him join

[ ] Oboro
- Talk to him on his ship in Raftfleet and ask him to join you
= If you didn't do the Rainwall investigation event, you'll have to talk
to Oboro after 5 different major story events and ask him to join you
! You cannot recruit Oboro after the Queen's Campaign starts

- Visit Babbage's lab in Estrise for a scene
- Talk to Sorensen and Babbage
- Talk to the guard at the revolving bridge
- Talk to Sorensen and Babbage again
- Take them to the revolving bridge via Logg's boat
- Scale the bridge machinery and defeat the boss
- Return to Babbage's lab in Estrise and agree to take Sorensen

[ ] SoLaTi
- Encounter and tame with Cornelio (found on Mountain Path between Yashuna
Village and Beaver Lodge)

After gaining Headquarters

- Talk to her twice on the docks of your castle, and let her join

- Talk to him outside of the inn in Yashuna Village, asking him to join
- Go inside the inn and let Marina join

[ ] Subala
- Go to Raftfleet with Lun in the party
- Agree to do the fishing challenge with Subala
- Defeat Subala at fishing (hint: ram her boat a lot once you're in the
lead, so she can't fish)
= If you fail to beat her, just challenge her again

[ ] Wilhelm
- Have fewer than 650 total casualties in war battles
- Talk to him in Raftfleet, Leclar, or Doraat
= If you have too many casualties, bring Viki along to see him instead
! If you don't recruit Wilhelm before the fall of Doraat, you cannot get
him or Mueller

 - Bring a single ? Painting with you to his shop in Haud
- Repeatedly talk to him and cancel out of his shop if it comes up
- Once he notices your painting, agree to bring him along

- Stick Takamu in your party
- Talk to her in the Dwarf Camp, near the world map exit
- Agree to show her a human window
- Have Urda guide you to Lunas
- Show Zunda the window on the second floor
= If you already have Haswar, Isato, and Urda, you'll need to bring Urda
with you instead of Takamu

[ ] Alhazred
- See his scene in Rainwall before leaving
- Visit the first room of the second floor of the Tricolor Inn in Yashuna
Village and get the Suspicious Book
- Give the book to Chuck
- Go and stay at an inn
- Talk to Chuck and get the book back
- Return the book to the Tricolor Inn room
- Talk to Alhazred in Estrise and admit you've seen something odd
- Take Alhazred to the Tricolor Inn room (save first!)
- Defeat the Book of Condemnation
! If you don't see Alhazred's scene in Rainwall, you cannot recruit him

[ ] Richard
- Talk to him at the Waterfall Basin
- Talk to Mueller at your castle
- Talk to Richard again
! If you miss Wilhelm and Mueller, you can't get Richard

[ ] Genoh
- Talk to the beaver outside of the elder's house in Beaver Lodge
- Talk to the beaver elder Fuwalufuwalu until he repeats himself
- Bring Alhazred or Levi with you, 1 level below your hero's level, equal
to it, or higher
- Visit him at the Waterfall Basin
- Ask him to join

After battle of Lelcar

- Talk to him before the assault on Leclar
- Buy 100,000+ Potch of items from him before the battle (not rare finds)
- After the battle, talk to him again and ask him to set up shop with you
= If you didn't buy from him or told him to shape up, you can recruit him
later in Doraat by buying 6 non-rare items from his shop
= If you miss the chance in Doraat, you can recruit Mohsen in Hershville
by the same method as in Doraat

[ ] Murad
- Talk to Murad after 3 major battles and ask him to join each time
! If you do not recruit Murad by after Stormfist's liberation, you cannot
 recruit him at all

[ ] Jeane
- Visit the Big Hole and talk to the soldier outside
- After the battle of Leclar, talk to Jeane in Leclar's Rune Shop
- Agree to go with her to the Big Hole
- Return to the Big Hole and go past where Levi is standing
- Go far enough in the Big Hole that Jeane agrees to join you

[ ] Taylor
- After your return visit to the war room, find him outside the inn of
your castle and let him do his interview
- Find him outside the sealed room and agree again to his interview
- Find him outside Georg's room and agree again to his interview
= If you stay at any inn, he'll be back outside the inn, and you'll have
to tell him he can do his interviews all over again

[ ] Nikea
- Visit her in Estrise's inn
- Agree to duel her and win

[ ] Linfa
- Talk to her in Estrise's inn and agree to play her game
- Find her in Yashuna Village and talk to her
- Find her in Raftfleet's inn and agree to play her again

[ ] Dongo
- Bring him the Iron Hammer (found in Lordlake) (optional)
- Have him sharpen at least one weapon to level 8 (optional)
- Ask him to join you (optional)
- Bring him the Silver Hammer (found in Sable)
- Have him sharpen at least one weapon to level 12
- Let him join you

After Sable Bandits

- Normally, joins with Roy
= If you choose the wrong answers with Roy, you'll have to bring Roy to
Solis' house in Sable

- Find and defeat it near the bridge out of your base
- If you have Levi or Genoh, it will join you

- Take Sorensen to the new basement level of your HQ
- Enter the Gear room
- Head for Babbage's lab in Estrise, and take Babbage to the Gear room at
your HQ
- Leave and re-enter the castle

[ ] Lu
- After getting Babbage, bring Sorensen to Babbage's lab in Estrise
- Agree to help her find the lost gear
- Grab the gear left of the entrance, and take it to her

[ ] Miroon
- Bring Muroon with you to see her at the Tricolor Inn
- Investigate the cave behind the inn for Miroon
- Give Miroon permission to set up a bath at your HQ

[ ] Moroon
- Bring Maroon, Miroon, and Muroon to see him at the entrance of the Baska
Mines
- Go and see Meroon in Beaver Lodge, near the trading post
- Go and talk to Moroon again
- Go back to Beaver Lodge and thank Moroon
! If you don't recruit Moroon and Meroon before Sol-Falena's liberation,
you cannot recruit them at all

- Do the fishing minigame until you catch a Strange Fish

[ ] Shun Min
- See Retso

[ ] Chisato
- Watch Chisato's puppet show on Nirva Island
- See the pirates threatening the soldiers at Nirva's entrance
- Bring Bernadette with you to see Chisato again
- Talk to Chisato and tell her it's too dangerous
- After freeing the kid, talk to Chisato again to recruit her

[ ] Yahr
- Bring Bernadette with you to Nirva Island via Estrise's ship
- Check the ship to the west of your own
- Visit Yahr and Nelis at the inn
- Try to return to Estrise via the ship
- Investigate the light, and fight in the ship graveyard
- Quickly pick the second choice, to fire the Rune Cannon, when you run
into the boss of the ship graveyard again when meeting the pirates
- Destroy the Rune Cannon
= If you don't pick to fire the Rune Cannon, you can visit Yahr and Nelis
at the Nirva Island inn again and recruit them there
! If you don't destroy the cannon, you can't recruit these two

- Give Egbert's family tree to Oboro

- Investigate the storage room's top right corner
- Forgive Raven's behaviour to recruit him

After Queen's Campaign

- Visit Lunas with Urda's help, and see Isato there (should have done this
back when you recruited Zegai)
- Visit Lunas again with Urda after the Queen's Campaign
- Escape from Lunas and Urda, Haswar, and Isato will join you
! You must do this before liberating Sol-Falena, or you cannot get these
three at all

- Revisit the Big Hole after HQ expands for the second time, and talk to

suggested, or having a very good Rune setup)
* If you recruit Eresh, you cannot recruit Euram; Eresh is a much better
character overall

[ ] Hazuki
- Talk to her at Port Spinacks without Belcoot or Marina in the party
- Talk to her at Port Spinacks with Belcoot and Marina in the party (or
just Belcoot, but Marina adds to the dialogue)
= If you talk to Hazuki with Marina in the party first, you'll have to
wait until after finishing Sauronix Castle; otherwise, same steps

[ ] Cathari
- Talk to the man at the western entrance of Port Spinacks
 - Have Logg take you to Hershville Port
- Talk to Cathari
- After finishing Twilight Forest, go back to Spinacks and talk to Cathari
- Pick the second choice twice to recruit her
- Take her to the war room to see Lucretia to make the recruitment final

after the events of Twilight Forest

after the Twilight Forest events, and then find him at the control room
deep in the Ceras Lake Ruins instead

- Talk to him in the administrator's office in Hershville
- Return to HQ and visit the tavern in the basement
- Return to Hershville and enter the house left of the armor shop
- Leave and re-enter Hershville and visit the administrator's office again

! You have to recruit Haleth before liberating Stormfist

After Assault on Stormfist
