CONSTRUCTING A BRIDGE AT MANUBOG RIVER, BARANGAY RIZAL, MUNICIPALITY OF MANAY”. (Undergraduate Feasibility Study. Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology. June 2019.

Bridge is immensely important because it gives access to go to different places.
Bridge also allows people in different communities to connect together and accept diversity. This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of constructing a bridge at Manubog River to address the problems such as difficulty in crossing the river resulting to unsafe travel for the residents, high maintenance for vehicles and time consumed for travel is high causing slow mobilization of crops and high fare rates. In the design, three alternatives namely Flat Slab Reinforced Concrete Bridge, Reinforced Concrete Deck Girder (RCDG) Bridge and Steel I-Girder Bridge, were presented for comparison. The researchers recommend the construction of Reinforced Concrete Deck Girder (RCDG) Bridge since it has lower maintenance, high compressive strength, long life-span and economical. Researchers also recommend the construction of slope protection or flood protection on both upstream and downstream of the bridge to avoid soil erosion and to make the flow of water uniform.
