The first stage of submission will be a preliminary draft due on Friday April 27th, 2018. At this stage, the
following must be submitted:
 opening statements (this should be done by the lawyer who will be doing the opening)
 direct examination questions and answers for each witness (this should be done together by the
lawyer and witness)
NOTE: It is recommended that you work as a group for the preliminary draft on this, but each member will be
responsible for one section specifically.

STAGE TWO DATES: : Work periods: April 26th, 27th, 30th


Crown evidence must be disclosed to the Defence at the start of class on Wednesday May 2nd, 2018.
Please make sure that your evidence is properly presented (i.e. make sure that it is “bagged and tagged”). You
will lose marks if you do not disclose the evidence at this time, and your evidence may be inadmissible in court
if you don’t disclose it in a timely fashion.
The second stage of submission will be a preliminary draft due on Wednesday May 2nd, 2018. At this stage,
the following must be submitted:
 closing statements (this should be done by the lawyer who will be doing the closing)
 cross examination questions with expected answers for each witness (this should be done by the
lawyer – do not talk to the other team’s witness!)
 anticipated cross-examination questions with your answers (this should be done by the witness – do
not talk to the other team’s lawyer!)
NOTE: It is recommended that you work as a group for the preliminary draft on this, but each member will be
responsible for one section specifically.
