Vacancies

Applications are invited from Citizens of Sri Lanka for the Posts of

Electrical Engineer
Class II Grade II
in the Ceylon Electricity Board.

Qualifications & Experience:


(a) Engineering Degree (Electrical) from a University in Sri Lanka. (Four year
Engineering Degree Programme, which is accredited by ‘The Institution of
Engineers, Sri Lanka’)
OR
(b) Should have passed as Electrical Engineers of ‘The Institution of Engineers, Sri
Lanka’, completing the full course and the project
OR
(c) Any other qualification recognized as equivalent or higher in the same field by
‘The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka’ (letter of accreditation by IESL shall be
annexed).

In addition to (a) or (b) or (c) Associate Membership of IESL (copy of


membership shall be attached)
Note: Preference will be given to those who have successfully completed Power
Systems and Electrical Machines as Subjects.

Age Limit:
Should not be more than 35 years of age at the closing date of applications.
(The age limit will not apply to the employees of the CEB)

Salary Scale:
For those having the Chartered Engineer qualification either through IESL or IET (UK).

Rs.118, 900 – 5 x 2,145 – 10 x 2,210– 151,725/- p.m. (E3)

For others:
Rs.97, 920 – 5 x 1,755 – 10 x 1,790 – 124,595/- p.m. (E4)

other fringe benefits.

By an Interview.

Place of Work if selected:


Ceylon Electricity Board reserves the right to post the Engineers recruited to any location
in the country decided by the CEB. Selected applicants will only be recruited if they in
writing agree to accept the post at the location decided by the CEB.

Forwarding Applications:
Applications giving full details of educational/professional qualifications, experience,
present and previous employments (if any) and the age on the application closing date,
supported by copies of certificates including a copy of the Birth Certificate and Academic
Transcript should be sent to the Deputy General Manager (Personnel), Ceylon Electricity
Board, Sir Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 02. to reach him on or before
October10, 2017 by hand or by registered post. The envelope should be marked “Post
of Electrical Engineer, Class II Grade II” on the top left hand corner. Applications fail
to reach on this date (irrespective of the date of posting) will not be considered.

Candidates in State Service/Statutory Board or Corporations should forwarded their


applications through Heads of relevant Institutions who should state whether the
applicant can be released or not if selected.

Note:
1. Any application received after the closing date or does not conform to the above
requirements will not be entertained. Depending on the number of applications
received, they will be short listed and the applicants who were short listed will
only be called for the final interview. Any form of written or verbal canvassing is
strictly prohibited and such an attempt shall be considered as a reason for
disqualification.

2. The Ceylon Electricity Board reserves the right to decide on the number of
candidates to be recruited.
