Storage Policy Creation
Storage policies act as a channel for backup and restore operations. Its Chief function I
to map data from its original location to a physical media. Follow the steps given below
to create a storage policy.
5. In Select the Library page , Select the Appropriate Option and Click Next.
6. In Select Media Agent page, select Media Server dlpbkpa0002 and Click Next.
7. In the Enter the streams and retention criteria for this policy page, specify
appropriate settings and click Next.
8. In Advanced Settings for the Primary Copy page. Select default and Click
Next.
9. In Do you want to enable Deduplication for the primary copy page, Specify
appropriate settings, and then click Next.
10. In Configure Deduplication Database (DDB) specify number of Partition and
then click on choose path.
11. In the Selection page Specify the Media Agent and Partition Path and click OK
to proceed.
12. Click Next on the Windows that appeared.
13. Review your selection and click on Finish to create Storage Policy.
14. The New created Storage policy will appear Under Storage Policies.
Creating a Storage policy for a Tape Library
2. Right Click Storage Policy and then Click New Storage policy.
3. Create Storage Policy Wizard page will appear.
In what will this storage policy be used for page, select the appropriate
storage policy type, and click Next.
4. In the Enter the Storage Policy Name Page, Specify the appropriate
information, and Click Next.
5. In Select the library page Select Tape library and Click on Next.
8. In the Enter the streams and retention criteria for this policy page, specify
appropriate settings and click Next.
9. In Advanced Settings for the Primary Copy Select appropriate option and
Click Next.
10. Review your selection and click on Finish to create the storage policy.
