“Write a brief historical account of the Islamic expansion in the Middle East”

The Muslim community expanded by conquest throughout the Middle East, and the
resulting Muslim state development provided the basis for the origin and flourishing of the
recently are revealed faith. Religion feuled the military conquest, but greed and politics also
motivated it. In the years after the death of Prophet Muhammad, the rise of the Arab Empire led
to the creation of caliphates, which dominated a large geographic area and pursued converts to
Islamic faith. With far-reaching mercantile networks, merchants, scholars, hunters,
mathematicians, doctors and philosophers, the citizens of the Islamic world created numerous
sophisticated centers of culture and science. The Arab conquerors generally respected the
traditional Middle Eastern pattern of religious pluralism with respect to the conquered
populations, while respecting the practice of other faiths in Arab territory, although the
breakdown of historically religiously organized societies resulted in widespread conversions to
Islam.
