1 Hardware Changes

1.1 Board Changes

The new delivered DSCXL board has 1 GB memory. The Q-Number therefore is Q2311-X300.
The board Q2311-X has 256 MB memory onboard. It will be deactivated, if the board is upgrad-
ed with the 1 GB.
The DSCXL board (S30810-Q2311-X) supports the new memory starting E1. D5 is not support-
ed.

The NCUI2 will be supported for the migration. Therefore two loadwares are available in the
HiPath 4000 system.

1.3 Frames
The frames 80CMX-DSC, 80CXE, 600ECX and 600 ECS will be supported. The SNMP func-
tionality can’t be activated with this platform. CPCI hardware is necessary therefore.

2 Hard Disk Compact Flash (HDCF)

2.1 Hardware
The HDCF board consists of an hard disk (HD) and a compact flash card (CF).

Siemens Hardware

The board can be plugged and extracted at any time when the system is running. To prevent
the loss of data it is necessary to disable any access to the drives before the board is
extracted.
Also the CF/Microdrive Medium can be plugged and extracted at any time when the system is
running, provided that no access is active.

>
Before removing this module or the module in slot 1 the AMO DEACT-DSSM:
A1,1,,YES; has to be executed.

2.2 Hardware Part Number

The part number:
for the board is S30810-K2319-X300
for the 80 GB HD drive: Western Digital (S30122-X8014-X11)
for the 2 GB CF: SimpleTech (S30122-X8014-X13)

2.3 LEDs
The front side of the board features two green LEDs that indicate the status of the individual
drives:
IDE 1: HD (= upper LED), which is located at left side of the board.
IDE 2: CF (= lower LED), which is located at right side of the board.

2.4 Administration with HiPath 4000 Assistant

After exchanging the HD/MO board with the HD/CF board the CF-Card has to be configured:
● login to HiPath 4000 Assistant with user engr
● Open Software Management - Backup & Restore - Administration - MOD/CF

6

● Choose Initialize and Update RMX values for initialization of the HDCF.
For more information please refer to the administrator documentation of „Backup and Restore“
in the Intranet (http://netinfo2db.icn.siemens.de:8080/techdoc/en/P31003H3440M1130176A9/
index.html).

2.5 Administration with AMOs

The RMX AMOs support the new device type without any changes.
There is one visible difference in AMO behavior: If the physical disk devices are queried using
AMO DDSM (type SCSI) no device will show up in the list as long as there is no card inserted,
since in this case only a CF-Card adapter is present in the system (and no disk-type device).
If a „pure“” AMO configuration is needed (instead of using the HiPath Backup & Restore
application) the following steps are necessary for a CF-Card setup:
1. Remove the previous device setup from the database:
DEACT-DSSM:A1,6;
DEL-DASM:A1,6;
DEL-DCSM:A1,6;
2. Define a new device type for the CF-Card:
ADD-DTSM:A1,HD,18932,512,"CF1G3";

Notes
> ● The only difference from the 1.3 GB MOD setup is the sector size (which
are really physically different)
● Only 1.3 GB is configured for compatibility reasons, but the whole device
capacity can be used with proper DTSM definition if needed.

3. Configure the new device:

ADD-DCSM:A1,6,HD,"CF1G3";
ADD-DASM:A1,6,3200&992&2400&1120,4096&4096&4096&4096;
ADD-DLSM:A1,6,E,":PDS:";
ADD-DLSM:A1,6,F,":DBDA:"&":DBD:"&":TMD:"&":PAS:"&":AMD:"&":DMP:";
ADD-DLSM:A1,6,G,":CGD:";
ADD-DLSM:A1,6,H,":DMS:"&":DSY:";
ADD-DLSM:A1,6,I,":MOD-SCR:";

2.6 Restrictions
● Since there is no medium locking mechanism in CF-Cards additional care has to be taken
that the device is deactivated both on the RMX (DEACT-DSSM) and Unix (amount if
necessary) sides before it is removed.
● Due to the standard Unix device handling mechanism it is necessary to have a card
inserted during the Unix boot phase, otherwise no device resources will be allocated for
the CF-Card.
After startup the device can already be changed.
● It is not permitted to start device operations under Unix if no card is inserted, because it
results in a hanging I/O operation. (But it does not relate to operations started in
dipas_batch, since these run on the RMX side.)
● Any CF-Card greater than 2 GByte will be treated as an 2 GByte CF in HiPath Backup &
Restore.
● In RMX backups HiPath Backup & Restore will use only 1,3 Gbyte of the CF-Card.

2.7 New Features with HDCF

2.7.1 CR RQ00022813 Support of Duplication Function HDMO/HDCF

RMX software will be able to handle a second HDCF/HDMO board and data duplication
process will be supported with the optimized AMO DUP.

2.7.2 CR RQ00022812 Support Mixed Operation HDMO/HDCF

Mixed operation of HDMO/HDCF in the switch and the access point is supported. The HBR
application will recognize the configured CF or MO device and reconfigure it after the backup/
restore process on the Access Point Emergency.

3 AC-WIN IP
The comfort operator´s position AC-Win IP V1.0 of the Realtime-IP-Systems HiPath 4000 V2.0
/ V3.0 is a Windows®-application being based on a PC.
According to size of the system and the company structure one or several operator positions
can be fit out. The up to 60 different service features AC-Win are by means of a Windows sur-
face easy help. They facilitate for example of external or internal calls. The arriving calls know
in two (AC-Win 2Q IP V1.0) or twelve queues (AC-Win MQ IP 1.0) to be represented.

3.1 System concept

The activation of the comfort operator´s position AC-Win IP V1.0 occurs about IP at a HG3530
V2.0 in a system HiPath 4000 V2.0 / HiPath 4000 V3.0.
At the PC the USB-Device (Handset and Headset) are connected that. At the PC it concerns a
commercial execution, however the tested Fujitsu-Siemens-PCs are recommended.
The offered functionality is provided exclusively by means of software.
