a. Message of Congratulations

Message of Congratulations from Vietnamese leaders to US President

VNA- 7th November – On Nov 7, President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister
Nguyen Tan Dung sent a message of congratulations to H.E. Mr. Barack Obama
on his re-election as President of the United State of America.

The message says/dictates “ On behalf of the State, the Government and People of
Vietnam, we would like to convey to you our best wishes on the occasion of your
re-election as the President of the USA. We are pleased/satisfied to note that in
your last term, Vietnam – US relations continued to achieve significant progress.

The Vietnam – US cooperation has further/widely developed in many fields


ranging from politics, economics to science , technology, education and training ,
defense and security and as well as in humanitarian including post-war recovery
work. Besides, the two countries have also strengthened our closed cooperation in
international and regional fora on issues/matters of mutual concern/interest”

President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Mister Nguyen Tan Dung also expressed
their strong belief that in President Obama’s second term , the bilateral cooperation
would be furthered strengthened for mutual interest of the two peoples, for peace,
stability and development of the Asia-Pacific region and all over the world

b. Message of Condolences

Vietnamese Message of Condolences to Venezuela

VNA – 6th March , 2013 : Leaders of the Party, State, Government and National
Assembly of Vietnam have today sent messages of condolences to Venezuelan
leaders over the passing away of President Hugo Chavez.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang , Prime
Minster Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung
have extended/sent messages of condolences to First Deputy President of the
United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Chairman of Venezuelan Diosado Carbello ,
and Vice-President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro.

In their messages of condolences, Vietnamese leaders sent/expressed their deep


/profound sympathy to the Party, State, Government People of Venezuela and
President Hugo Chavez’s family, expressing their confidence/belief that Venezuela
and its people would soon overcome this lost and continue to record numerous
achievements. They also believed that the relations of friendship and
comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela would continue to
develop for the interests of the two peoples, for peace , stability, and cooperation in
the two regions and all over the world/in the world.

On the same day, the delegation representing leaders of the Party, State and
Government of Vietnam led/headed by the member of Party Central Committee,
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai left for Venezuela to attend the official
funeral of President Hugo Chavez Frias organized by the Government of
Venezuela on 8 March 2013.

Also on 3 June 2013, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh extended his condolences
to his Venezuelan counterpart Elias Jaua.

CONSOLIDATION
1. On the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the National Day of the Federal
Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (05.28.1991 - 05.28.2013), on 28 May 2013,
State President Truong Tan Sang sent a message of congratulations to Ethiopia’s
President Girma Woldergiorgis.

2. On the occasion that Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was officially inaugurated
as the 266th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, taking the name Francis I on 19
March 2013, President Truong Tan Sang sent a message of congratulations to the
new Pope Francis.

3. On /being informed of the passing away of the former President of the High
State Committee (HCE) Ali Kafi on 22 April 2013, President Truong Tan Sang
sent a message of condolences to the President of the People's Democratic
Republic of Algeria Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
