When ill treatment is regarded to those who criticize and decipher what is believed by many, it is an act

of defense against foreign ideologies. This is clear as the philosophers are seen as employing impiety by
those who stand by the divinity. Those who abide by divinity during the presocratic times’ behavior is as
clear as day even in the current religious situation of many. A lot of people claim religiosity whilst
portraying unethical dispositions and treatments. An old lady in the jeepney, just coming out of a
celebrated mass, badmouths an adult man across the vehicle because of his tattoos and attire – a shirt
with a hashtag, #NeverAgain, placed front and center, which is a movement against the Marcos
dictatorship.

Is it then correct to go against people simply because they are foreign in nature to us? Is it then just to
speak ill against the people of radical nature because they are alien to the eyes of those who strongly
stick with the culture their values are embedded in? During the Presocratic times, these people were in
essence, portraying synonymous behavior to this. This shows that religiosity brings a certain
commonality between its members who are conservative in nature.

Plato and Aristotle are no activists in this matter – they are actually regarded as few of the most
credible, original and important thinkers, not only in their time, but currently, in the field of philosophy.
As a Catholic and a Christian, despite not exactly agreeing to their ideologies – however the
inconsistencies with their beliefs from mine – I am able to realize why their ideas are deemed sensible. It
is because according to Plato, in our lives, especially once exposed to the face of struggle, we are on a
lifelong quest for salvation, and I agree. It is because according to Aristotle, the First Mover enjoys
perfect life and knowledge, and is incorporeal, and I agree, because I believe that in eternal life and in
heaven there exists the same life and knowledge God exists, despite being intangible now. Being a
philosopher, or tackling, understanding, and analyzing Philosophy, is only achieving what the faith of a
person wills: enlightenment, and fulfillment of the life He has given to us.
