Title: Cyber Security and Blockchain Technology

Abstract

The basic tenet of this workshop is to make aware the participants about the latest topics in
Cyber Security such as Basics of Information Security, Phases of Hacking, Data Security and
Data protection, Vulnerability Scanning and Cyber Security as a career and also to sensitize
participants with new applications, technologies and theories for Blockchain. Blockchain is an
emerging platform for developing decentralized applications and data storage over its role as
platform for Crypto currencies.

Disruptive Technologies such as Blockchain and the Internet of Things will have a profound
impact on the way we live and work.

Course objectives: This course will enable participants to

• Explain the fundamentals of Cyber Crime, threats, attacks and risk management.
• Analyze the nature and effect of cybercrime in society.
• Demonstrate digital Forensics.
• Explain Computer Crime and Criminals and Liturgical Procedures.
• Demonstrate WiFi Concepts and Hacking WiFi.
• Understand emerging abstract models for Blockchain Technology.

Course Outcomes : The participants should be able to:

 Explain the fundamentals and types of cybercrime and attacks.


 Illustrate computer forensic techniques to identify the digital forensics
associated with criminal activities.
 Apply forensic analysis tools to recover important evidence for identifying
computer crime.
 Learn Password dumping and rainbow tables.
 Familiarize the functional/operational aspects of crypto currency
ecosystem.

Resource Person Profile:

• Mr. Kunal Kishore, Information Security Section, RM Wing, Canara Bank HO,
Bangalore.

• Mr Ankush Vilhekar is IT Security Manager in bank and holds over 7 years of experience
in the domain. He also holds a masters in cyber security from IIIT.

• Mr Prakash Ranjan is a seasoned professional and has served various organisations like
Infosys , India Post Bank, IDBI Bank and now Canara Bank as IT Security Admin. He is
a constant speaker on the cyber laws and has attended many round tables and conferences
on the same.
