Water Stop Things to consider in constructing a cistern tanks mainly:
1. Water Stop Installation
2. Reinforce Concrete Construction 3. Tank Lining Application 1. A Water Stop is an element of a concrete structure, intended to prevent the passages of fluids (such as water) when embedded in and running continuously through concrete joints.

3. Tank Lining. This is a coating designed to cure at low temperatures and is applied inside and outside a tank to provide the ultimate protection of the substrate material from chemical attack.

DESIGN BASIS: Table 6-5 on Page 73 of National Plumbing code of 1999 indicates the “Equivalent Water supply Fixtures Units” for every type of Plumbing Fixtures including Lavatories, Shower Head, Sinks, Water Closet etc. Example: A Warehouse with office facility has 149- water closet, 4 Urinals, 56- lavatories, 9- shower, 12- kitchen sinks.
Calculate the maximum demand;
Fixtures: Water Closet - 149 x 6 units / WC = 894units
Lavatories - 56 x 1 unit / LAV = 56units Urinals - 4 x 2 units / Uri. = 8units Shower - 9 x 2 units / Sho. = 18units Sinks -12 x 2 units / Kitch. Sinks = 24units 1000 units
