Analysis of Fraud and Scums

Fraud, the most common aspect that has existed since time immemorial and continues to
surface itself even in the current world. At least, every individual has ever encountered happenings
related to fraud in their lifetime. One may ask themselves what does fraud means? How or when
is an aspect considered as a fraud? Fraud can be described as an unlawful act of deception that is
done by an individual for both personal and financial gain. Acts of fraud can exist almost in every
place ranging from governments, organizations, small offices to even daily personal life activities.
An event article from the AARP organization gives an exemplary discussion on a given event of
scam and fraud.
As mentioned earlier, the article by Skiba on Scams and Fraud gives a scenario in which a
group of people amounts to a significant number adding to 225 individuals who were found to be
charged in an elder fraud sweep (Skiba, 2019). According to the article, the largest group of
individuals who were at risk of being fraud were older people. Additionally, the report gives an
insight into the most massive crackdown that was taken both in the united states and abroad,
leading to the conviction of several individuals over fraud charges. The report also discusses fraud
as the most prevalent scourge that is currently affecting society
The case given in the article is relevant in a way that it creates public awareness on the
aspect of fraud and how they can be avoided or prevented (Skiba, 2019). The primary aspect
presented by the case of fraud is electronic directed forms of fraud. Various individuals use either
scammed emails and pop-ups, which appear like Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, apple, among
other known enterprises. Additionally, computer tech support organizations also re mostly used to
carry out fraud activities in which an individual can be called over some given aspect and ends up
being conned. Often the victims who are always targeted and fall for the scam are elderly
individuals aging from 60 years and above.
On other perspectives, several individuals may find themselves even helping fraudsters
transport illegal money across networks without their knowledge (Marks, 2019). Many of the
fraudster organization call centers based in India made up of both small scale and large-scale firms
that include more than 500 workers working both day and night in shifts. The leaders of these
organizations are considered as the primary stakeholders controlling the operations. These fraud
activities lead to the loss of a considerable amount of money by the elderly people, with some even
losing their entire savings and property.
From the given situation, the most suitable aspect that could have been done to solve the
given case was to educate elderly individuals on various issue and form that might pose as a fraud
in the sense of appealing adverts and calls from the internet surfacing as major known enterprises
(Marks, 2019). Additionally, the state should ensure that private information from individuals is
protected by setting up suitable intrusion protection services on the internet. This move will ensure
that not only the elderly is helped but also the other young individuals who spent most of their
time on the internet.
In conclusion, from a given point of view, most individuals are often frauded due to a lack
of knowledge or at the time due to negligence. Moreover, people usually take so fast to deals that
appear to be good and promising without even taking time to think of the consequences or if they
are false alarms. As it is always said, when the deal is too good, one has to think twice; however,

that is not still the case with the current word, a reason why many individuals often fall for the
same vice.
