Copyright maybe defined as a form of intellectual property which protects the rights of authors and

creators of literary and artistic works. It refers to the main act in which, in respect of literary and artistic
creation, may be made only by the author or with his authorization.

"Mark" means any visible sign capable of distinguishing the goods (trademark) or services (service mark) of an enterprise
and shall include a stamped or marked container of goods.

LEGAL DEFINITION OF TRADE NAME: (SETION 121.3)

"Trade name" means the name or designation identifying or distinguishing an enterprise.

Geographical indications are indications which identify a good as originating in the territory of a
country which is a member of, or a region or locality in that territory, where a given quality, reputation
or other characteristic of the good is essentially attributable to its geographical origin.

Industrial design as any composition of lines or colors or any three-dimensional form, whether or
not associated with lines or colors; provided that such composition or form gives a special
appearance to and can serve as pattern for an industrial product or handicraft. Simply put, it is that
aspect of a useful article which is ornamental or aesthetic.
Patents may be granted to technical solutions such as an inventions, machines, devices, processes, or an
improvement of any of the foregoing. The technical solution must be novel, innovative, and industrially useful.
In order for a technical solution to be granted a patent, the inventor must file an application to the Bureau of
Patents, which will examine, and in some cases, grant its approval. The law is designed as to foster domestic
creativity, to attract foreign investors, and to motivate inventors to release their products for public access.

Integrated Circuit means a product, in its final form, or an intermediate form, in which the elements, at least
one of which is an active element and some or all of the interconnections are integrally formed in and/or on
a piece of material, and which is intended to perform an electronic function;

"3. Layout-Design is synonymous With 'Topography' and means the three-dimensional disposition,
however expressed, of the elements, at least one of which is an active element, and of some or all of the
interconnections of an integrated circuit, or such a three-dimensional disposition prepared for an integrated
circuit intended for manufacture."

Protection of Undisclosed Information- In general, any confidential business


information which provides an enterprise a competitive edge and is unknown to
others may be protected as a trade secret. Trade secrets encompass
both technical information, such as information concerning manufacturing
processes, pharmaceutical test data, designs and drawings of computer
programs, and commercial information, such as distribution methods, list of
suppliers and clients, and advertising strategies. A trade secret may be also made
up of a combination of elements, each of which by itself is in the public domain,
but where the combination, which is kept secret, provides a competitive
advantage. Other examples of information that may be protected by trade secrets
include financial information, formulas and recipes and source code.

 pantomimes and choreographic works.
 pictorial, graphic and sculptural works.
 motion pictures and other audiovisual works.
 sound recordings.
 architectural plans, drawings and actual buildings.
