CASE #1: Concealing the Truth

Telling the truth could be one of the most difficult decisions mankind should do.
Because it could make or break people’s hearts. Eventually it also will split decisions between
good and bad, or, good and better. But in Doña Lucia’s case, I think the family should tell the
unexpected, heartbreaking incident. Because first of all, the family just made a double sin for
me, to God and their beloved Doña Lucia. They should just decide thoroughly of saying directly
to the elderly, of what happened to her favorite daughter. It is just that they should be brave
enough of what could be the result of the spoken truth. Because either way, consequences
would be tough for them. But at least, the truth that it is hard to say, be known for Doña Lucia.

Case #2: Promise-Keeping

Again, as the most controversial moral issue discussed and debated in the class, for me,
this case would also be an anyone’s decision depending on what aspect, belief, or perspective
in life that they will decide on. Because that will eventually strike some personal details in their
lives, depending on what or where are they into. And for that, we should honor and respect it.
Case #3: Stealing and Cheating: Which is worse?

First of all, stealing and cheating is a sin. No positive results these sins could give? And
could weight, which sin is worse? Because it eventually breaks the rules of any of the ethical
dilemma, you could think. In socio-political aspect, laws under constitutions are in big deal.
They could have imprisonment or fining. Religion aspect, I don’t think any teachings or beliefs
that will say it is acceptable to a God for stealing and cheating to their neighbors. That would be
also a big deal, and eventually much bigger consequences for disobediences.

Case #4: Community Service: Mandatory or Voluntary?

You cannot just put high school or college students’ lives in more jeopardy? Especially
graduating students? Community service is voluntary! Helping in cleaning the environment is
only a man’s decision and discipline. And for the students, who should only be busy in studying
and getting their goals, are not be distracted in being mandatory of community service.
Because somehow and somewhere, they could offer their time in helping the environment and
their community clean. You should just not force people to do stuff, and eventually just to
follow one’s order.
