Activity 1

1.) Create a written scenario for moral valuation, moral issue,

moral decision and moral judgment and moral dilemma.

Moral Valuation:
Being honest is what you are doing when no one is watching.
Trust is gained if people are honest. For instance, a student broke
a chair inside the classroom because they were playing and the
teacher got mad because of it. Instead of denying what they have
done, they admitted that it was their fault and they were
sorry about it. The teacher eventually forgiven them.

Moral Issue:
Kyrie already knew what is the right thing to do in able for to
him pass the examination yet he refuses to review and
resorted to cheating. This scenario is showing us that we
should do the right thing because we already know the
consequences of our actions.

Moral Decision:
There were only three of you in a sinking boat and you alone can
swim. Who will you save? Your girlfriend or a scientist with the
cure for Covid 19? In this scenario you are dealing about your
moral decision in choosing your personal interest against the
common good.

Moral Judgement:
A law maker opts to pass a bill about the fights for anti-
abortion because of the child’s right to live, but he also
wanted to file the bill about fights for a woman’s
right to choose. This shows moral judgement wherein the law
maker have to weighwhat is most important.
Moral Dilemma:
A daughter couldn’t afford the life-saving medicine her dying
mother needed, but she had access to the medicine storeroom?
Her core values might tell her stealing is wrong. However, her
morality would tell her she needs to protect her mother. As such,
the daughter might end up doing the wrong thing (stealing, as
judged by her values) for the right reasons (saving her mother, as
judged by her morals).

2.) Why do we need punishments? Explain briefly.

We need to have punishment to learn from our mistakes, maintain

security and peace in our society. It is important that everyone
has awareness that there is a corresponding
punishment for every wrongdoing that may resulted harm to
others.

3.) Explain what kind of attitude you had.

As my wife notices, the attitude I have is patience and

perseverance in working and studying. I am a religious, kind
person, loving and above all I understand and sympathize with
the situation and condition of other people.

4.) Discuss the moral and ethical doings.

When we say Morals, it refers to one's personal beliefs about right

and wrong. The logical sets of conducts or rules to be expected
and/or abided by from an individual or a group of people who
are usually taught based upon religious beliefs on what is
good/bad or right/wrong for an individual or a group of people
since our creator God is the source from where everything derives
from. Morals may differ from culture, tradition and time to
another.
Whereas ethics deals with one's own personal beliefs of what is
good/bad or right/wrong based on their experience with someone
or something. A newborn baby for instance who has a blank slate
mind has no morals or ethics to follow right from the start. His
innate feelings can automatically and instinctively decide
between what is good/bad for him based on current and past
experiences. For example, he may touch a hot oven for the first
time and get himself mildly burned because he does not
understand what 'hot' truly means and what its effects or impact
on his skin could potentially do to him. But another repetitive
action could make him realize and understand that touching a
hot oven while it's running is a bad idea, thus developing a
cognitive approach that such an act is unethically bad for him. On
the contrary, a moral example is if the child's mother has told him
that praying is something that all people do because we would
be praising God. The child may or may not belief this moral
saying depending on how he perceives it. And in my opinion,
adults should not always believe in any moral sayings especially
where no proof, evidence, or explanation has ever been provided
as many times morals are used to deceive people for one's own
benefit.

6.) How do you know if a punishment is acceptable and

unacceptable.

When we say a punishment is acceptable, if it is correct and in

accordance with the law in the eyes of God, man and society.
Basis that no human rights are violated.

On the contrary, punishment is unacceptable if it already violates

human rights even if it is acceptable for the principles and beliefs
of the majority.
7.) Make your own principle in 2 to 5 sentences.

One of my principles in life is giving without expecting

anything in return. It's better to feel that you are the one who
gives to people who don't have and are in need. Back then I also
feel that I have nothing but there are people who do not
hesitate to give. It’s a great thing to give people without the
capacity to return your help. As Blessed Theresa of Calcutta
said "you are not so poor that you cannot give, and you are
not so rich that you cannot receive."

8.) Why people are having fear of punishment?

Because of man's excessive desire for freedom, they forget

that things in the world have limitations and boundaries. So,
people are already doing things that are not right in this
world. Which leads to fear of being punished because you
know as a person that you have done too many wrong doings.

9.) Make your own list of right and wrong doings of a person (10
each list will do)

RIGHT DOINGS
-Love our Lord God Jesus
-Love our Families
-Respect people
-Being faithful to your spouse
-Always tell the truth
-Have Courage
-Have Integrity
-Keep your promises
-Do not cheat
-Be forgiving
WRONG DOINGS
-Be selfish
-Telling a lie
-Body Shaming
-Judgemental
-Destroy someone's confidence
-Never respect other people
-Moody
-Bad Attitude
-Never take responsibility for your actions
-Never be tolerant of differences

10.) Write a moral lesson in your life. (5 to 10 sentences)

Life is a continuous learning experience. Throughout our lives we

keep rising and falling, picking up important lessons along the way.
For me, as I now going through the very difficult situation caused by
this pandemic. I realized that to make every moment count, Life
goes by faster than we think. When you’re in your twenties you
think you’ll stay there forever but before you know it you are in your
thirties and it’s too late for the things you wanted to do as a young
person. Live your life to its full extent because life is short and we
never know what tomorrow brings.
