Title: Banana Fiber As An Additive Component In Concrete Mixture
Abstract: This research aims to improve the strength of concrete by adding banana fiber on the concrete mixture. Banana fiber has an exquisite mechanical and physical properties that significantly enhance several engineering properties of the concrete such as flexural strength, compressive strength and tensile strength. In this study, compression test is conducted to determine the strength of the concrete with three different percentage of banana fibers. The results of the test will be compared with the strength of the ordinary concrete mixture.
Title: Proposed Ferry Service System in Olongapo City
Abstract: The goal of the research is to study an alternative way to cater the public mass more option in their daily commute by proposing a Ferry Service System in Olongapo City. Since the Olongapo City has a lot of body of water from the neighborhoods to the business districts, and only bridges are allowing people to arrive at their destination. With the growing population of the city and growing number of vehicles, and the main streets and highways of today does not process efficient flow of vehicles, a water-based transportation should be considered. In this study, the researchers will determine the effects of the Ferry Service in the daily commute and traffic flow in Olongapo City.
Title: Investigating properties of Plastic Building Blocks (Eco-bricks)
Abstract: Plastic pollution has been one of the biggest environmental issues since the last decade. Thus, the development of the plastic building blocks or eco-bricks started. This research aims to investigate the various properties of the eco-brick such as its compressive strength, cost analysis and its possible applications. The experimental results are to be further compared to the traditional construction materials. The study should be helpful in providing supplementary data to characterise the bricks and encourage the use of them to a significantly wider extent as a more sustainable construction material.
